Chapter 99 - Chapter 99: "You're Getting Anxious ^^"

At this moment, Syl didn't know that the crowd had been ignited so quickly; if she did, she would have been more than happy to go take a look.

After all, this could be a moment of witnessing history.

However, Syl was currently still walking toward the Sule District.

After all, it was almost lunchtime.

In the relatively prosperous Sule District, there were quite a few gourmet restaurants. The saran noodles restaurant Jane had taken her to yesterday was also in the Sule District.

Whether from the perspective of the roads, shops, or residential areas, the Sule District felt like a completely different city from the Ivisa District—perhaps even a different era. The houses in the Ivisa District were simply too old.

"Let's see if this wave can change anything." She shook her head somewhat helplessly.

She planned to return directly to the Holy See after lunch, as Aishala had specifically told her this morning to come back early.

Moreover, there was no longer any need to stay in the Ivisa District today. Syl had finished everything she needed to do; now, she just had to wait for things to ferment.

Perhaps at a critical moment, she would transform into the Joker to give things a push, but not now.

After wandering around the Sule District for a while, Syl chose the same saran noodles restaurant Jane had taken her to yesterday. Firstly, because it was delicious, and secondly, because it was safe.

As a restaurant frequently patronized by members of the Church of the Goddess of Justice, it was as safe as could be—imagine a restaurant in modern times constantly filled with police officers or soldiers; it was that kind of sense of security.

Of course, that was provided one hadn't done anything to feel guilty about.

"I haven't done anything wrong..." Syl muttered softly to herself, "What the Joker does has nothing to do with Syl, right?"

Just as she reached the restaurant entrance, Syl took off her glasses.

The waiter at the door froze for a moment, then seemed to remember that Syl was the guest Jane had brought yesterday. Gesturing for her to enter, the waiter said, "Welcome, Your Highness Saintess of Hope."

"Where's Jane? Has she been here today?" Syl inquired briefly about Jane's situation.

"Her Highness Jane? No, she hasn't visited the restaurant today." The waiter shook her head, leading the way while saying, "Her Highness Jane doesn't come often. After all... one can't eat noodles every day, don't you agree?"

"May I ask, Your Highness Saintess of Hope, are you looking for Her Highness Jane?" After leading Syl to the same table she sat at yesterday, the waiter bowed slightly and asked, "If so, I can pass a message for you if I see her."

"Uh... no need. It's nothing urgent, I just wanted to chat." Syl shook her head and dropped the subject, picking up the menu to order.

After finishing lunch, Syl left the restaurant and walked toward the White Rose District, preparing to return to the Holy See while digesting her meal.

When Syl arrived back at the Holy See, she happened to see Aishala preparing to walk out. There were black specks of light under Aishala's feet.

"Archbishop Aishala?" Syl walked up the steps and asked, "Are you planning to go out?"

Upon seeing Syl, the light specks under Aishala's feet vanished as she replied:

"Just, planning, to find, you."

"Ah... that's a pity. If I had eaten a bit slower, you could have joined me for lunch." Syl smiled and shook her head, then added, "I'm back."

"Mm."

Aishala nodded, but then suddenly noticed something. Frowning, she stepped right in front of Syl, closing the distance between them significantly.

"Follow me." Leaving those words, Aishala turned and walked into the interior of the Holy See.

Looking at the direction she was heading, Syl guessed they were probably going back to the room.

"What's wrong? Is there something wrong with me?" Syl looked down at her black robe with curiosity, but didn't see anything unusual.

Baffled, she followed Aishala back to the room. Aishala reached out, took Syl's arm, and had her sit on the bed before saying:

"Close eyes. I, check."

"Huh?" Syl blinked, not quite reacting to Aishala's words.

If anyone else had spoken to Syl like that, she would likely have thought they were a pervert... but the person before her was Archbishop Aishala, and the Archbishop's expression looked extremely serious.

Syl didn't overthink it and obediently closed her eyes. After she did, Aishala's form before her began to change.

Dozens of slender, golden-yellow tentacles sprouted from Aishala's back, twisting and waving in the air in a chaotic manner. Even Aishala herself became somewhat illusory.

Especially Aishala's face; it seemed unchanged, yet if one lost focus for a moment, it felt as though she no longer had a face, replaced by a surface covered in short, thin tentacles.

One of the tentacles reached forward slightly and stopped between Syl's eyebrows, as if carefully probing something.

Meanwhile, alarm bells were ringing loudly in Syl's mind.

Every cell in her body was screaming at her: Don't open your eyes, don't open your eyes, don't open your eyes.

It felt as though if she opened her eyes right now, something life-threatening would happen.

"To be honest, I admire this little girl... she's actually managed to touch the edge of the Mythical Form under this kind of blockade."

"Mythical Form? What's that?" Syl asked nervously in her mind, her eyes tightly shut.

"It's the essence of power. You'll find out later."

Already tense, Syl saw the system's prompt box in the darkness. She clenched her fists and snapped back in her mind, "Can you stop being such a riddle-monger?!"

"You're getting anxious ^^."

The system's words were as punchable as ever, but Syl's heart actually calmed down.

Based on her previous experiences, if it were something concerning her life, the system wouldn't be acting so indifferent and sarcastic.

Since the system was still being snarky, it was enough to show that she wasn't in any immediate danger. She just needed to keep her eyes closed.

She didn't know how much time had passed before that sensation of her entire spirituality screaming to flee vanished. A slightly tired voice from Aishala came from in front of her:

"Done."

"Mm..." Keeping her eyes closed, she asked softly, "Can I open my eyes now?"

"Yes."

Syl opened her eyes slightly. Looking at Aishala, who seemed no different than before, she shrunk her neck back a bit, looking rather timid.

Seeing Syl's state, Aishala realized she might have frightened her. After all, Syl was still just a child.

So, Aishala reached out and patted Syl's head, explaining, "You, digest, too fast. Not, at ease."

"Wait, half month. Then drink, holy potion."

Feeling the touch of Aishala's soft, warm hand on her head, Syl felt an impulse to reach out and ruffle Aishala's head in return, but logic triumphed over her suicidal tendencies.

Syl asked curiously, "I've finished digesting? But to be safe, I should wait half a month, right?"

"No," Aishala shook her head, "Two, three days, enough. But dangerous."

Meaning, she could fully digest the holy potion in two or three days? But Aishala thought advancing that quickly would be dangerous?

Syl nodded, indicating she understood.

Just then, a knock came from the door.

Syl looked up at Aishala, and after seeing her give a slight nod, Syl called out toward the door, "Come in."

The door slowly opened, and Sharon's figure appeared at the entrance.
