Chapter 16 - The Journal

Dear Clancy,

I'm sorry for everything that has happened. I never meant to disappear or to leave you behind. I was going somewhere. A place where no one else can go easily.

I don't fully understand how I ended up there. And I don't know if you will believe any of this. It's your choice to believe or not. I'm just trying to fulfill your request, to tell you the truth.

Apparently, I don't know where to start. Thus, I'll begin from the very first time I came to that place.

It happened before Stacy's wedding day. At that time, I felt something freakish inside me. I couldn't see my reflection in the mirror at all. No one could see me, not even my own parents.

It was as if I had become invisible to the world.

Except for one person. I don't know who he was, but he was the only one who could see me. I was curious about him, and then I decided to follow him.

He led me into the wilderness, a forest thick with mystery. Deep inside, a dense fog swallowed everything. I couldn't see anything, but I kept moving forward, trusting my instincts.

Eventually, the fog lifted.

It was freezing cold. So cold that my car window froze over as I sat inside.

At the end of the mist stood a grand mansion, Kiervant Sky. It was magnificent, luxurious, and hauntingly beautiful. I fell in love with that house instantly. I decided to enter.

I counted how many times I went to that place. It was three times.

The first time I saw Kiervant Sky, I wondered why anyone would choose to live so far from civilization, in the middle of nowhere. But maybe it was the perfect place. It was quiet, peaceful, far from the chaos of life.

It was the first time I was seeing Kiervant Sky. At first, I wondered why there is someone who prefers to live in the middle of the wilderness.

Maybe, it is the most appropriate choice. Because it is the quietest place and far from the hustle and bustle of life,.

After that, I went home. Do you know what happened?

My parents couldn't see me. They couldn't sense my presence. I couldn't even see my own reflection in the mirror. It was as if I had ceased to exist in their world.

At that moment, I didn't know how to make myself visible again. I was lost between two worlds, trapped in a shadow.

Hence, I thought it was better to go away. To stay felt pointless, if no one could see me, if my existence was invisible to the world. Then what was the use of lingering in a place that no longer recognized me?

I didn't know where to go. The only place that crossed my mind was Kiervant Sky. Ansel had once told me that Kiervant Sky wasn't part of the human realm but belonged to the Immortal realm. A mysterious place where time and reality blurred.

So, I returned to that place again.

It was the first time I truly entered the house. I didn't have any idea what I did. I sneaked inside a stranger's home without permission, like a thief. I thought it was not me, like I pretended to become someone else.

I hoped to find answers there. I didn't understand what had happened to me, why I was trapped in another dimension. But strangely, the cold that had once chilled me to the bone was gone.

Before stepping inside, I knocked on the door. Nevertheless, no one answered. The silence was thick, so I pushed the door open and walked in.

Inside, I was met with something extraordinary. A massive object that I couldn't identify. It looked like a cocoon, but unlike any cocoon I had ever seen.

It was made of blue crystal, shimmering and glowing softly. The light reflected off its facets, casting enchanting patterns on the walls. It was beautiful, almost hypnotic.

Curious, I reached out and touched the cocoon.

Suddenly, something terrible happened. I was pulled inside, trapped within its crystalline walls. Panic surged through me as I struggled to escape, but the cocoon held me tight. After what felt like an eternity, I finally broke free, gasping for air.

Though I was trapped within that house, my mind was never free. It was as if an invisible force called me back, haunting my thoughts relentlessly.

So, I decided to return to Kiervant Sky once more.

This was my third visit.

The cocoon was gone. Perhaps the owner had moved it elsewhere.

The mansion itself was breathtakingly luxurious, yet eerily empty. Every corner was illuminated by floating candles. The flames were not the usual red or orange, but a mesmerizing blue that flickered like ethereal spirits.

I wandered upstairs, where I found a long, elegant sofa. Beside it sat a teapot, intricately carved or so I thought. As I reached out to touch it, the teapot suddenly bit me.

Startled, I dropped it.

Apparently, it wasn't a carving at all. It was a real dragon, a small one, fierce, and alive.

It was the first time I had ever seen a real dragon. But strangely, it didn't impress me. Instead, I felt a chill of unease.

Then, the owner of the house appeared.

Perhaps he had heard the crash of the teapot falling down.

He caught me immediately, his grip firm and unyielding. I had barged into his mansion without permission, and now I was at his mercy.

His name was Marchio.

Fear and panic surged through me. His presence was beastly, powerful, and terrifying. I felt as though this might be my last day alive.

I knew he was angry at my intrusion, at the chaos I had caused in his mansion.

But there was one thing I didn't understand.

Marchio said he would help me meet my parents again. Though something called the Reverse Time Illusion. I didn't have an idea what it was. Out of my curiosity, I decided to say yes.

But he warned me it was just an illusion, not reality. For me, it didn't matter. I had no other choice.

However, there were conditions I had to fulfill before I could meet them. Before I could see my parents again, even if only through the Reverse Time Illusion.

I didn't fully understand what those requirements entailed. Was it just idle talk, or something more serious? The way Marchio spoke, calm and measured, gave nothing away.

But I could feel the undercurrent of anger beneath his composed exterior. It was subtle, almost imperceptible, but it was there.

Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure that he was angry.

Who wouldn't be? Imagine someone breaking into your home uninvited, causing chaos like a thief. Even if the disruption seemed trivial, it was a serious matter. One that could easily spiral into something far more complicated.

That's why I chose to comply with his demands. For me, it was the only way to apologize properly. After all, it was my fault for barging into his mansion without permission. I had to take responsibility for my actions.

I hoped that once I fulfilled what he wanted, Marchio would forgive me and allow me to leave, free to return to my life.

You know, He, gave me a feather. It was reddish-brown, soft, and shimmering with an almost otherworldly glow. The texture was unlike anything I had ever felt, delicate yet strong, as if it held a secret power within its fibers.

Do you know where the feather came from?

Marchio has wings, real wings. The feather was from those wings.

I don't know what kind of creature he is. Ansel was right when he said Kiervant Sky was not part of the human realm but belonged to the Immortal realm. Marchio is one of them, an immortal being, powerful and enigmatic.

I don't know what will happen when I meet him again. The uncertainty gnaws at me, filling me with dread and anticipation.

That's why I'm writing this journal for you, Clancy.

There's one request I must make.

Because of what happened, I don't want to see Ansel anymore. I have a bad feeling about him, a remnant that I can't shake. I don't know if it's paranoia or a premonition, but I trust my instincts.

Please, for my sake, stay away from him.
