Chapter 27 - Ch:27-The War That Shouldn’t Exist

Reality didn't crack.

It erased.

The moment the outsider moved its hand, the space in front of it began to disappear—not break, not shatter, but vanish, as if it had never existed. The system didn't resist. It didn't react. It simply failed to recognize what was happening.

And that made it powerless.

Aarav stepped forward.

Not because he was stronger.

But because he had no choice.

Behind him stood something that existed because of him. In front of him stood something that should not exist at all. And between them—

There was no system left to rely on.

"…Stop," Aarav said.

The outsider didn't respond immediately. Its attention remained fixed on him, its presence steady, unaffected by the collapsing reality around it.

"…Command not recognized," it replied.

A pause.

"…Proceeding."

The erasure expanded.

Faster this time.

The space around Aarav distorted as pieces of existence vanished at the edges, creeping closer, consuming everything in silence.

The anomaly stepped back instinctively.

"…It's deleting everything…" it whispered.

Aarav's gaze hardened.

"…Not everything."

A pause.

"…Just what it can define."

That realization changed something.

Because if the system couldn't recognize the outsider—

Then the outsider couldn't fully recognize the system either.

Aarav moved.

Fast.

Not physically—

But through the system itself.

His presence spread across multiple layers at once, pulling fragments of structure together, forcing them into alignment—not as control, but as resistance.

The erasure slowed.

Just slightly.

The outsider paused.

"…Interference detected."

Aarav stood in front of it now, his form stabilizing under pressure, his presence sharper, more defined than before.

"…You don't understand this place," Aarav said.

The outsider tilted its head.

"…Correction: this place is incomplete."

A pause.

"…We are correcting it."

Aarav clenched his hand.

"…You're destroying it."

"No," the outsider replied.

"…We are refining it."

The difference—

Was perspective.

And neither side was willing to accept the other.

The Watcher moved again.

Not with authority.

Not with command.

But with force.

For the first time, it abandoned control and joined the conflict directly. Its presence surged forward, condensing into a single focused strike aimed at the outsider.

The attack connected.

And this time—

Something happened.

The outsider's form flickered.

Just for a moment.

Aarav saw it.

"…It reacted," he said.

The Watcher didn't speak.

But it understood.

The outsider wasn't untouchable.

It just wasn't being attacked correctly.

"…You adapted," the outsider said, its tone unchanged.

A pause.

"…Expected."

It raised its hand again.

But before it could act—

Aarav moved first.

This time—

With intent.

The system surged around him, not fully under his control, but responding to him, aligning with his presence. Energy formed—not as raw power, but as structure itself, shaping around his will.

He didn't attack the outsider.

He attacked the space around it.

Reality shifted.

The outsider's form distorted slightly.

Not erased.

But affected.

"…You're forcing interaction," it said.

Aarav didn't stop.

"…You said this system is incomplete."

A pause.

"…Then I'll complete it."

The system pulsed violently.

Not in resistance.

But in response.

The anomaly behind him stepped forward, its form stabilizing further as it reacted to Aarav's actions.

"…I can feel it…" it said.

"…What?" Aarav asked.

"…The system…"

A pause.

"…It's changing again."

That was the risk.

Every move Aarav made—

Didn't just fight the outsider.

It changed everything.

The Watcher spoke.

"…Your interference is destabilizing the core."

Aarav didn't look back.

"…It was already broken."

The outsider moved.

For the first time—

With speed.

It closed the distance instantly, appearing directly in front of Aarav, its hand reaching toward him—not to strike, not to destroy—

But to erase.

Aarav reacted.

The system surged around him, pulling him slightly out of alignment just as the outsider's hand passed through where he had been.

The space behind him vanished.

Gone.

Without trace.

The anomaly froze.

"…If that hits you…" it said.

Aarav didn't respond.

Because he already knew.

He wouldn't just die.

He would never have existed.

The outsider turned again.

"…Your resistance is inefficient."

A pause.

"…Conclusion: increase output."

The system trembled violently.

Because something had just escalated.

Far beyond, the other outsiders began to move closer, their presence aligning as if preparing to act together rather than individually.

The pressure increased instantly.

Aarav felt it.

Not as force—

But as certainty.

They weren't testing anymore.

They were executing.

"…This is bad…" the anomaly whispered.

Aarav's voice dropped.

"…No."

A pause.

"…This is the end."

Not of him.

Not yet.

But of something.

The Watcher stepped beside him.

For the first time—

Not above.

Not separate.

Beside.

"…If this continues," it said, "the system will collapse entirely."

Aarav nodded slightly.

"…Then we end it before that happens."

The outsider raised its hand again.

This time—

Not just toward Aarav.

But toward everything.

The space around them warped violently as multiple points of erasure began forming at once, spreading outward, targeting the system's core layers directly.

The anomaly stepped forward.

"…I'll help," it said.

Aarav looked at it.

"…You might not survive this."

The anomaly didn't hesitate.

"…Neither will you."

A pause.

"…So it doesn't matter."

Silence.

Because that answer—

Was enough.

Aarav turned forward again.

His presence expanded.

The system responded.

The Watcher aligned.

And for the first time—

All three stood together.

Not in control.

Not in balance.

But in defiance.

The outsider observed them.

"…Cooperation detected."

A pause.

"…Outcome: irrelevant."

The erasure activated.

Everything began to disappear.

And this time—

There was no stopping it.

All three have united…

But the outsiders have escalated.

And now, everything is being erased at once...?
