Chapter 2 - Ch-2:The World Without Light

The sky above was blue… but it did not feel real.

Aarav sat still for a long time, staring at it like it was something he had never seen before. The wind touched his skin differently now—no divine warmth, no energy flow, no silent voice of Heaven guiding everything.

Only… emptiness.

He slowly placed his hand on the ground.

It was cold. Rough. Real.

"This… is Earth?" he whispered.

The word felt strange in his mouth, like it didn't belong to him.

He tried to sense it again—his power, his energy, anything inside him.

Nothing responded.

Not even a trace.

Aarav clenched his fist.

"I am still alive… so why do I feel dead?"

A sudden breeze moved through the trees nearby. Leaves rustled. Somewhere in the distance, a bird called out. Everything was alive here—but not in the way he understood.

In Heaven, everything had order.

Here… everything had chaos.

He stood up slowly.

His legs felt weak, like they were not made for this world. Each step forward was heavy, unfamiliar.

A small dirt path led toward a village.

That's when he saw them.

Humans.

They walked without discipline, without synchronization. Some were carrying water, some were talking loudly, some were laughing for no reason at all.

Aarav froze.

Why are they not in order?

Why is no one following structure?

His eyes narrowed as he observed them more closely.

They were imperfect. Emotional. Unstable.

And yet… they were alive in a way Heaven never was.

A child ran past him, almost bumping into his shoulder.

Aarav didn't move.

The child looked at him, smiled, and ran away.

Smiled?

Why would someone smile at a stranger?

In Heaven, no one smiled without purpose.

Aarav took a step back.

"This world… doesn't make sense."

Suddenly, a sharp pain hit his chest.

"Ugh—"

He fell to one knee.

The mark.

It was burning again.

The faint symbol on his chest flickered under his skin like a living wound. Dark energy pulsed inside it, but it was unstable—like something locked too tightly was trying to wake up.

Aarav gritted his teeth.

"What are you doing to me…?"

The mark did not answer.

But something else did.

A whisper… deep inside his mind.

Not ready… not ready…

Aarav's eyes widened.

"Who's there?"

Silence returned instantly.

He stood up slowly, breathing heavily.

"This curse… it's not just punishment."

He looked toward the village again.

"I need answers."

Inside the Village

As Aarav entered the village, people started noticing him.

Not because he was special.

But because he looked… different.

Too quiet.

Too observant.

Too disconnected.

A man carrying firewood stopped walking.

"Hey… are you lost?"

Aarav looked at him.

Lost?

He didn't understand the word properly.

"I am… searching," Aarav replied.

The man raised an eyebrow. "Searching for what?"

Aarav paused.

What was he searching for?

Identity? Truth? Origin?

But none of these words felt complete.

Finally, he said:

"I don't know."

The man chuckled slightly. "That's honest at least. You from the city?"

Aarav didn't respond.

The man shrugged and walked away.

Aarav stood there, confused.

In Heaven, not knowing something meant weakness.

Here… it seemed normal.

That was the first contradiction he couldn't understand.

The Hidden Observer

Far above the Earth, beyond the visible sky… something moved.

A space that did not belong to any dimension.

A throne-like structure made of fractured light and shadow hovered in silence.

The same figure sat there.

Still hidden.

Still watching.

Its fingers tapped lightly on the arm of the throne.

"So he is adapting… faster than expected."

A second voice emerged from the darkness.

"Shall we activate the next seal?"

The figure tilted its head slightly.

"No."

A pause.

"Let him feel the world first."

A faint smile formed under the shadows.

"Humans will break him faster than Heaven ever could."

The darkness around the throne shifted.

"But… if he remembers early?"

The figure's eyes glowed faintly.

"Then we will know… he truly is Him."

Silence returned.

And Earth remained unaware.

Back on Earth

Night arrived quickly.

Aarav sat near the edge of the village, away from people.

He watched them.

They gathered around small fires, talking, eating, laughing.

They were not powerful.

They were not divine.

But they were… connected.

Something Aarav had never seen in Heaven.

Connection without control.

He lowered his gaze.

"This world is illogical…"

But for some reason, he couldn't stop watching them.

A woman handed food to a child.

A man helped another fix a broken cart.

They did not ask why.

They simply did it.

Aarav felt something strange in his chest.

Not pain.

Not curse.

Something softer.

He touched his chest.

The mark pulsed once.

Then again.

His vision blurred for a moment.

And suddenly—

A flash.

A vast golden space.

A voice calling him.

Not the shadow.

Another voice.

Familiar… but erased.

"Aarav…"

He gasped.

"What… was that?"

The vision disappeared instantly.

He stood up quickly, breathing heavily.

His heart was racing.

"That voice…"

Before he could process it—

A loud sound echoed from deep inside the forest nearby.

BOOM.

The ground shook slightly.

Birds flew away.

Villagers paused and looked toward the forest.

"What was that?"

"Another wild beast?"

Aarav's eyes narrowed.

But he felt something else.

A presence.

Not human.

Not animal.

Something closer to him.

His mark burned violently.

This time, it was different.

It wasn't just pain.

It was recognition.

Aarav stepped forward without thinking.

Toward the forest.

Toward the sound.

Toward the unknown.

Deep in the Forest

The deeper he went, the darker it became.

Trees twisted unnaturally here.

The air felt heavier.

Then he saw it.

A massive crater in the ground.

The earth was shattered.

And at the center…

A glowing object.

Dark red light pulsed from it like a heartbeat.

Aarav stopped.

His breath slowed.

"What is this…"

As he stepped closer—

The object reacted.

The light intensified.

The mark on his chest exploded with pain.

Aarav fell to his knees again.

"Argh—!"

The object rose slightly from the crater.

And then—

A voice echoed.

Not from outside.

From inside the object.

"Finally…"

Aarav's eyes widened.

That voice…

It was not human.

It was not divine.

It was something that should not exist.

The object cracked slightly.

Dark energy spread through the forest.

And then it spoke again.

"We found you… Cursed Son of Heaven."

Aarav's body froze.

"…What did you call me?"

The object trembled violently.

And the forest fell silent.

Like the world itself was holding its breath.

Then—

CRACK.

A thin fracture appeared on its surface.

Something inside… was waking up.

TO BE CONTINUED…

The night turned colder.

And for the first time on Earth…

Aarav was not alone.
