Chapter 73 - Word from the Noble

"Roxy, I pray that your travels turn into the most wonderful adventure and bring the most trouble this world has ever seen." Phillip asks

"I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say thanks to this or not."

I wasn't even sure how to interpret Lord Phillip's heartfelt words. But we'll, it's very much like him, I thought with a wry smile. Elias and his party all turned to each other with bemused looks on their faces.

It wasn't that he hated the current status quo. He was on the sides of the haves, not the have-nots, after all. He was a human being living an honest life in this world. And if anything, he should have wished for the world to stay as it was.

But the reason he couldn't help but feel excitement, and possibly a little tear, at the prospect was because he, Phillip Morris, was part of the adventurer's bureau.

Seeing their expressions, Lord Phillip. He hadn't laughed like this in years. For so long he'd just been busy with the work of managing the town, but things were finally going to change.

After they parted ways with Lord Phillip, I went to the bureau-managed inn in the center of the Central Plaza. It was a massive, twenty-story building and their front was situated at the top floor. They have an unobstructed view of the Merchant District in Town Allure. The room they'd been given was magnificent as well. There was a wide living room, as well as four separate bedrooms, each furnished with a massive canopy bed. Both the sofas and the rug were soft and fluffy, and they could tell at a glance every piece of furniture was high-class.

The Yellow Flower Guild didn't want to come to the inn, instead, they returned to the Flower Manor and proceeded to rest. It's been days since they've left their hometown. I surely miss this town of mine, even though we stayed in the village for exactly five days. The only one that remained in the inn was my brother, Catherine, Patricia and Alta.

I sank into the couch, Catherine conked out in an instant, while the others excitedly explored their new living quarters. It was heaven to live in luxury.

"Woah, this is truly a five star review."

A few minutes after our arrival. Cassius came to visit along with his parents, Count Roman Calico and Countess Snow Flower. Unlike the nobles I had seen in my life, Roman and Snow were very agreeable people. He could see how Cassius had turned out into such a nice person.

Roman insisted on thanking me and offered me a pile of gold and invitations to his manor, but I wasn't interested.

"Kind sir, I'm truly glad I was able to return your son to you alive. But as for the reward, the bureau already paid me. They requested this mission, and I completed it, so the matter of payment's been settled."

I was being polite to Cassius' parents. It was so out of character for him that Patricia started yelling for a medic, while Alta hid under his bed screaming "I do not like that! I've gone mad!"

Needless to say, the Calico Family found their behavior rather odd.

"Excuse me a moment"

I said to the bewildered Calicos, Then picked up Patricia and Alta, then flung them out of the window, saying "Go play outside for a bit," in a forcibly cheery voice. In case anyone had forgotten, they were on the top floor of a twenty-story building.

The Calicos paled as they heard Patricia and Alta were knocking the door in the distance.

However, I just slammed the window shut in ease, turned to the couple with a smile, and said "Cheery kids, aren't they?" They nodded vigorously.

I had no reason to antagonize people as nice as them, so I'd acted more politely as usual. However, my conduct must have been too much of a shock between these two, and they'd broke.

Exasperated, Elias muttered "I'll get my beloved girls." And leaped out the window as well. The Calicos turned to look at their son, their heads creaking like a badly oiled machine.

Cassius was rubbing goosebumps on his arm, glaring angrily at me all the while. He'd guessed what I was trying to do, and what he was hoping you would get out of it out.

"Well, I guess I shouldn't refuse your feeling, Count."

"Huh? O-Oh, yes…"

Still shocked at the recent chain of events, Roman peeled his eyes away from his son and turned to me. Grinning, I requested the same things he'd requested to Lord Phillip

"So basically, if it ever happens that we need to turn to you for aid, I hope you'll be willing to give it." I said

"Is this really all? I heard you risked life and limb to rescue my son from a chimera's breath. Surely, there must be more you want. By the way, didn't one of your comrades just leap from the window…?"

"Well… I'd say I'm asking for a lot, actually. It's possible you might be put in a dangerous position for helping us. If anything, I may be asking you too much."

"Hahaha, I suppose that's true. In that case, I won't promise unconditional support, but I will do everything I can if you ever come to me for help. Anyway, if I may be blunt, didn't you just throw two of your companions out of the window…"

"Thank you very much, Count. Your help is much appreciated."

I continued to ignore Roman's question. I did it so casually that the Calicos started doubting whether they really saw him throw my friend out of the window.

Finally, they finished processing everything and realized the truth of the situation, thinking. Wait a second, didn't we just see a murder occur before our eyes? His companions must be a splatter on the ground now, right?

However, before they could do anything more than shudder, suddenly…

"That was mean, Eirene, just you threw me off the window doesn't mean we're noisy."

"Unbelievable. To be thrown so unexpected out of a window. I must say that we were impressed by your skills."

"Shut up" I said

Elias used his dark magic to catch the two girls easily. A White hand latched onto the window, and Alta and Patricia's heads popped up below the window sill. Their bangs covered their expressions. Elias snatched them with ease.

"Woah, what survival you have there. You, in a luminous knight costume. May you work as a bodyguard for Snow Flower herself."

Roman talks to Elias, and instead is met by gaze from Cassius' mother, Snow Flower.

"Umm, sorry, but we're got work to do." Elias replied

As always, Elias' attitude has gone numb, ever since I fell into a coma of nearly three days. His attitude towards me changed, he became the kind brother he once was before. I can needle their girls willingly with making Elias annoyed, such as throwing girls at the window. Elias didn't get enraged and instead, joyfully watched his little sister have fun.

After the Calico Family had left. I collapsed back onto the sofa and sighed heavily. My head was resting on Elias' lap. Patricia was sitting by Elias' feet and Alta clings towards Elias' body while Catherine is sleeping on the couch. My brother is basically living a harem life at this point. Three girls to one man.

"Anyway, let's rest for today. We gotta restock our supplies for tomorrow." Elias said through his party

"Huh?" I replied, shocked from my face. Then my brother continued and began facing the details

"Our party will be leaving Town Allure, we will return to Caria City, to inform the news about Cassius rescue, didn't you forget, Eirene?" Elias calmly asked

"Brother, why all of a sudden?"

"Sorry, little sis. But I will resume my duties as a luminous knight."

Seeing his serious expression, I knew that I would be all alone again. Separating my one and only brother, so I fulfilled my one last request to Elias.

"Big Brother, may I have one small request?" I said calmly

"What is it? I promise I will do it. Think of it as a farewell gift for my departure."

Then, I slowly calmed myself, breathed a lungful of air, then proceeded to talk.

"Let's visit our old house again. The Rynd household."
