Chapter 69 - Setting Off

Rebelbub Village.

The land around the village had been ravaged, full of huge craters and magic explosions that certainly belonged to the aftermath of that battle, that was scattered along the village's walls. There were still mountains of monster corpses that needed to be disposed of. However, by some miracle, nearby refugees and villagers had all come out of the ordeal alive.

Messengers had been sent out to inform those who had already evacuated of the good news. The village had also sent out runners to notify the surrounding towns and capital. There was much rejoicing as the evacuees returned and people were reunited with their family, lovers and friends. Despite the work that still needed to be done, Rebelbub Village was filled with a festive atmosphere.

The dark walls that stretched at the perimeter slowly started to diminish, slowly fading in thin air. Elias' dark magic was about to expire and the huge walls were slowly melting. Those that had remained behind gesticulated wildly as they recounted the unbelievable fight that had taken place just outside those walls.

The children's eyes lit up in wonder as they heard about the luminous knight and his party's heroic deeds. Meanwhile, the merchants were discussing how they could turn the history of Rebelbub Village into a new tourist attraction to make money.

As well as the chimera's destruction, we were admitted of reconstruction. Houses were finally rebuilt, crops were started to grow and the once lifeless grass reverted back to its greenery, everything was now in control.

We were ready for departure, our luggage was ready and Elias summoned its famously black horse once again. We attached a larger wagon that can fit nearly ten people plus the heavy luggage. It was truly divine that we finally finished our mission to protect Cassius.

As we were about to leave, one of my guildmembers, Natalie Haro, approached my brother in a passionate or some say, cute expression towards Elias, then she asked.

"Umm… Elias, I wouldn't allow that to say it but… can you unseal my friends for me? Especially my brother?" Natalie begs for Elias

It's been three days since the guild members were locked up in the shadow vault, even though Elias took good care of it, he fed them leftovers when necessary. They didn't see the sunlight in days and have been trapped ever since. Elias took them as prisoners inside of his domain, hoping to teach a lesson not to toy a dark magic user like Elias, otherwise, you'll be locked up.

"Oh, I completely forgot, here your friends, Natalie."

Elias raised both of his hands into the air and he began slowly spreading out a small door leading to the shadow vault; there, three men stood beside Elias, each of them looking at a discerning glare.

"Elias, you're a dead man!"

Ned shouts at Elias, both gritting its teeth and clenching his hand like a ball, at the same time, he began muttering insults at Elias. Enraged, he punches Elias with sheer strength, but he dodges and instead punches through the air, its vision retorts as he hasn't seen a shred of sunlight in days.

"Wrong move, Ned."

Elias dodges Ned's raged attack and managed to hold on one of Ned's arms, seeing this opportunity. He broke his limbs until he can't no longer move. This makes Ned writhe in pain, making him tumble on the ground and start throwing insults at Elias like a kid throwing a tantrum.

"Elias! Elias! You bitchless monster! I'll swear I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" Ned angrily responds

"Quit your dreams, Ned. You're nothing but a loser."

I didn't intervene, knowing that my members needed to teach a lesson. Ever since my members first met my brother at the inn, they were disgusted by my brother's attitude towards me. As their vice-leader was being threatened, they were their only hope. So, my brother has decided to give a piece of his mind to these members, hoping to teach a lesson.

Elias spits Ned straight out in the face, while the remaining two didn't fight back, they just cower in fear. Instead of fighting back, Carin began throwing insults at Elias.

"Hey Elias! You know I just took a huge shit on one of your shadow vaults, it was horrendous that your domain of yours didn't have a toilet or some sort." Carin responded

Elias took a quick peek at the entrance of his shadow vault. It does smell like shit, Carin just takes a huge dump inside of Elias's storage room, it looks like an elephant's turd on the inside, filling the scent of nasty poop. So, Elias snapped back.

"Hey shithead! Clean that shit up!"

Elias called Carin shithead once again, that is literally his trademark for calling one of my members names. Instead of fighting, Carin threw insults through his face.

"Don't tell me what to do, Elias! You edgy asshole!"

Calling my brother "edgy asshole" was like no other than facing a death sentence. The only time that Elias was called by that sincere nickname was no other than Alistair himself, who said that nickname before dying in numerous gunshots. But Carin grinned and calm voice turned into shock all of a sudden.

"Whom are you calling me an edgy asshole! Huh, you shithead!"

Because of that, Elias kicked Carin off and went straight to the shadow vault once again. Then closed the entrance for good. Carin's distant echoes were heard through Elias's body. So he responded.

"Hey shithead! You can return if you clean that shit of yours, you hear me!?" Elias said angrily

"How the hell would I clean this mess up? You don't even have cleaning supplies over here?" Carin replied

"Use your hands instead. Or even better, eat your own shit. You shithea-"

After that, their conversation was cut off by one of the remaining guild members, Barry Waters, who was seen kneeling through the ground. Apologizing to Elias on the way down.

"E-Elias! I'm terribly sorry about what I have done for you! P-Please, spare my life." Barry stutters, and proceeds to apologize.

Out of all the members in the Yellow Flower Guild, Barry was the one who was respectful enough for Elias, he learned his mistakes not to interfere with an Luminous Knight, while others were just simply mad about Elias's aloof and pragmatic behavior, Barry acknowledged from his mistakes.

The reason why Barry was calmly apologizing to Elias was simple, he was just a stone-ranked archer, meaning that he can't face Elias easily. Elias and Barry both excel in marksmanship, as both of them are magic specialists, meaning they can imbue magic on one of their projectiles.

After hearing Barry apologize, Elias has decided to spare him.

"Okay, your lucky pussyface. You're free to go."

After that, Barry smiles waterly, he then explains the reason why he behaves instantly.

"Elias, thank you. I will never do it again! You keep feeding me leftovers that I'd don't like and trapped in an empty darkness and enduring the foul smell that Ned made. So please, apologies."

After that sincere apology, we packed our things inside the wagon. Inside that wagon, there were at least nine passengers.

I noticed that Alta decided to join in, even though the battle was finished, he is still here, joining on retrieving Cassius back to safety. There, I asked him.

"Umm, Alta, you know you can leave? Right? The mission is done."

Alta and I locked eyes, noticed that I was talking to him, then, he lent out a reasonable explanation.

"Eirene, I cannot change my true and chimera form. I was completely drained from mana during that battle, and I was having a hard time reverting back through my original form."

I suddenly recalled that Alta had indeed run out of mana, he poured all his magic to kill at least one thousand monsters. And worse, he used up all of Elias mana reservoir during that battle, so Elias didn't have any spare rings to share with Alta, so he was basically stuck in his human form until his mana was fully recovered.

"So, care to join us?"

"Certainly Eirene, I will also be heading back to Caria City, where my home resides, and by surprise. Your brother will also be heading to Caria."

Alta managed to take a ride at the wagon, where he will return back home to Caria, where also Elias lives currently as an Luminous Knight. Despite being an adventurer, Alta had managed to climb a rank that high, gold-ranked adventurer was rarer than the standard silver-ranked. With the look of his gold plated token, I can tell his rank briefly

After all things were settled, we were about to set off, Ned had fully recovered from his bones, Patricia sat on the driver's seat and the others, including me, sat in the wagon.

The villagers waved at the horizon, seeing that their hero will leave the village, several children gathered up and began giving them goodbyes,

The passengers were Elias, Patricia, Catherine, Alta, Cassius, Natalie, Ned, Barry and especially me.

Then, the wagon clattered and the shadow horse began heading south, heading back to Town Allure.
