Alina Voss was not supposed to be awake.
Yet, she was.
She sat on her bed, eyes wide open, watching the thin mist swirl through her room like ghostly fingers. Her heart pounded as she held her breath.
She had discovered it by accident—a flaw.
A small crack in perfection.
The vent above her bed didn't release enough mist.
Not enough to fully sedate her.
