Stephanie's Point of View
I emerged from the bathroom with heavy, exhausted paces, only to find Alexander still seated within the perimeter of the room. The absolute moment his eyes fell upon my frame, he rose to his full, towering stature, his piercing, hawk-like blue eyes tracking with a meticulous scrutiny over my depleted body, which was wrapped loosely in a bathrobe. He delivered his signature rough, gravelly rumble: "I have critical business today and must depart immediately."
Swallowing with immense difficulty, the muscles of my chest tightened with a dark apprehension and anxiety. I stated in a faint, fractured breath: "Business... is it mafia business once again?"
He tilted his head forward slightly, his gaze flattening into a cold, frozen stare as he stated: "You already comprehend the answer to that inquiry perfectly well, Steph. There is absolutely no necessity to repeat it."
