You stood with your group in the central square as the morning light bathed the growing city. The new shops, forges, clinics, and guild buildings stood proudly along the freshly paved streets. The villagers and the 324 new refugees had gathered, curious and excited.
Lukas stepped forward as the new ruler, Liora at his side. He raised his hand for silence, his cosmic presence calm but commanding.
"From today, Eldenwood is no longer just a village. It is the beginning of a city — our city. I accept the role of King Lukas, ruler of this growing realm. My wife, Liora, will stand beside me as Queen Liora."
Liora bowed her head gracefully, smiling softly at the crowd. The people cheered and bowed in respect.
Lukas continued, voice steady:
"To give our people real purpose and opportunity, we open two new guilds today.
For the Adventurers' Guild, I appoint Kael as Guild Master. He has proven himself through hard work and humility. The hero woman Lily will serve as Vice Guild Master. The other two heroes will act as guild representatives, helping train new adventurers and organize quests."
Kael and Lily stepped forward, kneeling briefly before rising with solemn determination. The other two heroes nodded, accepting their roles without complaint.
Lukas went on:
"Everyone will be given jobs according to their skills — farming, crafting, trading, healing, guarding. Merchants and adventurers from outside will soon come here for business. This city will grow through our own hands."
The crowd erupted in excited cheers and applause. The new citizens already looked motivated, whispering about which shop they might open or which guild they would join.
You stepped forward last, your voice carrying clearly across the square:
"I will stop using my power to build or create things like buildings, shops, or houses from now on. The people need to learn these skills themselves, or we will all grow spoiled and weak. I will only use my power for our family — for protection, healing, and private matters. The future of this city belongs to all of you."
The villagers nodded with understanding and respect. Many looked inspired rather than disappointed — they wanted to build their own home with their own effort.
Lukas turned to you with a grateful smile.
"Thank you, big brother. We'll make you proud."
The city of Eldenwood had officially begun its new chapter — with a king, a queen, proper guilds, shops, and a clear path for growth through the people's own hands.
Miya leaned against you, tail curling proudly. "A wise decision, my lord. They will become stronger for it."
