Chapter 153 - Unnamed

Chapter 153 Every time a group disappears, it is abnormal

Aaron barely slept a wink, as Abey would wake him up every now and then.

Each time, Abey would tell him that he heard a terrifying, murderous sound, which was wandering around the Castleas if searching for a target to hunt.

After several times, Aaron no longer thought it was a prank, because Abey's demands for sleep time and quality were no lower than his own.

For it to be so serious, it meant that the sound truly existed.

Forcing himself to sit up, Aaron glanced at the alarm clock by his bed and sighed helplessly.

It was almost six o'clock; there was no need to sleep anymore.

"Are you satisfied? I slept almost two hours less than usual."

Abey rubbed Aaron's palm apologetically, simply expressing his regret, "I just wanted to remind Master to be careful, I had no other intentions."

Aaron had no doubts about this, "You said you heard a terrifying sound, and I believe you, but can you determine what kind of sound it was?

We are in a magic school, so ghosts, elves, or even pranks by certain Wizards are all possible.

Oh, and the Slytherin common room is at the bottom of the lake, where there are also giant squids and Grindylows."

Abey lowered his head in thought for a moment, then shook his head, "None of those, I'm very sure it wasn't them."

Aaron frowned; these were all the normal situations he could think of; what remained were abnormal situations.

However, unusual things always indicate something strange, and nothing is surprising in the Magical World.

Aaron tapped his index finger on the bed, various possible conjectures surfacing in his mind, but ultimately decided to pretend he knew nothing.

Firstly, he wasn't sure if the owner of the sound would be hostile to him, and meddling was not a wise move.

Secondly, he had no evidence to prove that such a sound existed in the Castle, after all, he heard nothing last night.

Perhaps only animals, or magical creatures like Abey, could hear it.

"Listen to me, first pretend you heard nothing.

Act as you normally would, can you do that?"

"I can do that." Abey nodded, but was still a little puzzled, "But why? This sound is very dangerous, it's hunting."

Aaron took a deep breath, patted his pet's head, and explained seriously, "The bird that sticks its head out gets shot; the early bird gets eaten by the worm.

There's a saying in your Master's family motto: when you know little, the best thing to do is pretend you know nothing.

This is a maxim from an ancestor: feigning ignorance is the way to live long."

Abey seemed to understand but not fully; he didn't grasp the profound meaning of doing so, but listening to his Master was the right thing to do.

"However, pretending to know nothing doesn't mean doing nothing; the next time you hear this sound, tell me so I can be mentally prepared."

He felt that he wouldn't be so unlucky as to be the first target of the sound's owner.

But undeniably, with such a ticking time bomb in the Castle, he probably wouldn't be able to sleep soundly until he figured it out.

Fortunately, the sound did not reappear for over a month afterward.

The comfortable learning and living environment made both him and Abey subconsciously ignore its existence... Halloween eve.

This was a memorable day; at this time last year, Quirrellreleased a Troll, forcing the feast to be interrupted.

However, he believed this year's feast would proceed smoothly... probably!

The Great Hall was particularly crowded today, with students filling the long tables, and various exquisite delicacies on the golden plates.

Pumpkins of all sizes hung from the ceiling, bright candlelight shone, creating a lively atmosphere.

Dumbledore even invited a skeleton band to perform dancing at the front of the Great Hall, which was a rare sight.

Aaron placed two servings of fish on Abey's plate, then looked at Draco and asked, "How's training been going recently?"

"Very well, Marcus and the others all approve of your plan and are particularly cooperative." Draco said excitedly, "I initially thought they would resist, but I didn't expect them to be so excited."

"Previous Quidditch matches were always decided by the Seeker, but my plan will allow them to really show off.

With the Nimbus 2001, Slytherin will crush Gryffindor in points, winning with an absolute advantage." Aaron smiled, "But you can't be careless either."

"Don't worry, I know my limits.

If Harry Potter can still turn the tables on me after this, I'll avoid him whenever I see him from now on." Dracopromised, patting his chest, his eyes unconsciously glancing towards the Gryffindor long table.

"What's going on?"

"What do you mean, 'what's going on'?"

"Harry Potter and his friends are gone again, and this time Hermione Granger is also missing." Draco pointed to the long table behind Aaron, "See for yourself if you don't believe me."

Aaron turned around in a daze, and sure enough, three people were missing from the Gryffindor long table.

"Heh heh!" Draco seemed to have thought of something amusing, unable to stop the smile on his face, "Last time they went missing, they drove a car to school.

Professor McGonagall was quite lenient, only giving Harryand Ron detention.

I heard one was sent to the trophy room to polish silver, and the other was sent to help Lockhart reply to his admirers.

But this time, they might not be so lucky."

"Don't talk nonsense, the Halloween feast doesn't require students to attend; maybe they were delayed by something this time!" Aaron said with a strange expression, but deep down, he also felt that Draco made sense.

It wasn't unprecedented for the three of them to go missing together; the last time was to go through the trapdoor to deal with Professor Quirrell, and the time before that was to conspire to steal his pet.

"I always feel like they're up to no good." Draco said, "This isn't prejudice, it's purely an intuition."

"Uh... on that point, I share your view." Aaron nodded in agreement; sometimes, metaphysics was worth believing in.

Just then, Abey's ears twitched, and he stopped eating, his clear eyes constantly scanning his surroundings.

"What's wrong?" Aaron asked, somewhat puzzled.

Abey bared his teeth, "Master, I hear that sound again."

Aaron shivered unexpectedly, but seeing Dumbledore at the teachers' table, his heart instantly returned to his stomach.

With the most powerful White Wizard of this century here, there was nothing to fear from some hidden coward.

Even if Dumbledore couldn't stop the hidden danger, they certainly couldn't; eating a little more now might just make them well-fed ghosts.

"Can you hear where the sound is?" Aaron murmured, cautiously asking in Dragon Language.

The sound was very soft, perfectly covered by the noisy laughter in the Great Hall, so much so that even Draco, sitting in front of him, didn't notice.

This wasn't Aaron being overly cautious, it was simply to reduce unnecessary trouble, as there were few who could communicate with dragons in the Magical World.

Abey thought for a moment, then pointed a paw towards the door.

"It stayed in a corridor outside for a while, but it's not there anymore."

"It's gone?

Then I'm not afraid."

Aaron breathed a sigh of relief, a faint smile appearing on his face.

But thinking that this unknown creature was still wandering the Castle, his mood darkened again.

Still, he couldn't ignore it! It wouldn't be good if something happened and affected Hogwarts.

He signed in at Hogwarts for ten magic points a day, which was like riding a rocket compared to the one or two magicpoints in other places.

To develop quickly, well, and steadily, ensuring the safety of this magic school was paramount.

Phew!

Aaron took a deep breath, looked down at Abey, "Are you absolutely, positively sure that unknown creature is gone?"

Abey nodded eagerly, "Very sure, and it's running very far now, I can't sense its location."

"What about the specifics?"

Abey froze for a moment, looking at Aaron speechlessly, "Master, I'm not omnipotent."

"Sorry, I overthought it." Aaron chuckled awkwardly, then picked up Abey, "Then let's go take a look!"

"Where are you going?" Draco asked.

"Nature calls; I'm going to the washroom.

The feast is almost over, I'll head back to the dorm after using the toilet, you don't have to wait for me."

With that, Aaron walked out of the Great Hall.

Abey, sniffing the air, led the way, bringing Aaron to a corridor on the third floor.

The hallway was empty, with nothing but a lot of water stains on the floor.

"It's just ahead." Abey said, pointing to the corner ahead.

Aaron slowed his steps, lowering his voice and carefully avoiding the puddles on the ground, afraid of making any sound.

At the same time, he was ready to act, his wand ready to be drawn at any moment.

If there was truly danger, a few spells would make Lord Voldemort cry out in pain, and he would have a chance to escape.

But when he got closer, he opened his mouth in astonishment, his first reaction being that these three going missing together was definitely cursed.

He saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione standing in front of a wall, and on the wall, there seemed to be crimson blood writing.
