Chapter 138 This road is not so easy to walk
"Tsk, tsk, tsk! This is way too wild!"
Aaron's mouth twitched uncontrollably. He was all too familiar with this car; he had taken it to the station just this morning.
What he couldn't understand was why Harry and Ronwould rather drive a car for such a long journey than take a comfortable train.
There were many ways to seek excitement, but this one was simply inconceivable. How much must they have drunk to do something so absurd!
The drive to Hogwarts would take at least eight hours, and with their stamina, he doubted they could even last. Moreover, it seemed one of them couldn't even drive, which meant there was no chance to switch drivers.
Thinking of this, Aaron shook his head speechlessly. Given the care he had received these past two days, he still had to help them!
He took out his wand, aimed it at the left side of the Ford car in the sky, and shot a red flare.
Whoosh!
Ron, who was leisurely driving the flying car, was startled by the sudden red light. His hands instinctively slammed the steering wheel, and the car spun seven hundred and twenty degrees in mid-air before finally stabilizing.
"What was that just now?"
"How should I know? It came from below.
Could someone have spotted us? Is the Ministry of Magicthat efficient?"
"Impossible! My dad works in the Misuse of MuggleArtefacts Office; they usually only deal with things after they've happened," Ron said, somewhat unconfidently. "And this was an emergency, so even the Ministry of Magic can't punish us too severely."
"Not too severely?" Harry's mouth twitched, and a bitter smile appeared on his face. "Let's go down and see! Maybe if we show a good attitude about admitting our mistake, it won't be so bad."
Ron also swallowed, controlling the car to descend.
But when they had descended to a certain height and saw Aaron on the train roof, both sighed in relief.
Although they didn't know how he had found them, it was a huge relief that it wasn't the Ministry of Magic.
"You two are being very high-profile!" Aaron teased. "Driving to Hogwarts—this is a major event that has never happened since the school was founded. If you want to be famous, this isn't the way to do it!"
"The entrance to Platform 9 3/4 was blocked, so we had no choice but to drive," Harry said with a wry smile. If it hadn't been absolutely necessary, they wouldn't have wanted to.
"That spell just now was very dangerous. If my driving skills hadn't been good enough for a sudden 720-degree turn, we would have been in big trouble."
Good skills? Are you kidding me?
He had heard panicked screams more than once on the train, which meant they had made at least two mistakes before this.
Although he felt speechless, Aaron still explained, "What I shot out was just light, with no destructive power, and I specifically aimed it at the left side of the car."
"How did you find us?" Harry asked curiously. Ron had driven the car to an altitude of at least tens of thousands of meters; logically, no one could have seen them except planes and birds.
"Hmm… my hearing is pretty good.
On the train just now, I heard your shouts and the roar of the car, and not just once.
Out of concern, I took such a big risk to climb onto the train to take a look.
I didn't expect…" Aaron shook his head. "Does Arthur know you took the car out?"
Harry and Ron exchanged glances, then shook their heads guiltily.
"I thought so. He would never allow you to do such a thing.
But a son smashing his own father's rice bowl—this is the first time I've seen that.
Arthur will probably be called in for a talk by the Ministry of Magic, and your car is almost certainly, no, definitely gone."
"It can't be that bad!" Ron swallowed. "I shouldn't have been seen by any Muggles when I was driving."
"That's just 'shouldn't'. What if someone did see you?
Besides, Wizards would definitely notice something unusual, especially in broad daylight, and with all the noise your car was making," Aaron directly shattered his wishful thinking. "But you don't need to worry too much, after all, there was a reason for it, and Arthur is an old employee, so the Ministry of Magic probably won't make things too difficult for him."
Ron breathed a sigh of relief. Although the outcome wasn't great, it wasn't unacceptable.
"Do you… want to come rest on the train for a while?"
"No, I still have to drive!
This is our family's only means of transportation; we can't just abandon it halfway." Ron said with some regret, then looked at Harry, "Harry, why don't you go to the train!
The door is open, just jump over."
Harry looked at the bridge hundreds of meters below the tracks, his facial expression turning particularly stiff.
I would have had the guts to jump, but if you say it like that, what if I fall?
"What do you think?" Ron shook Harry's shoulder, pulling him back from his daze.
Harry forced a smile and pointed at the ravine below, "If it were you, would you dare to jump?"
Ron glanced down, then at the train, which was only a few meters wide, and couldn't help but swallow.
"Um… I still have to drive!"
Aaron couldn't help but laugh at the look of resistance on their faces, then gave them a thumbs up. "You two, you see things very clearly!
But it's alright, you'll still have a chance to jump off after we cross this bridge.
Even if you make a mistake then, you'll only fall from about three meters, at most a broken bone."
"Actually, driving to Hogwarts is still a pretty good experience," Harry quickly said. "The car passing through the clouds under the clear blue sky is just like a fairytale kingdom in a dream."
"And we still have toffee. Every time we look at the scenery below, it's different and incredibly beautiful.
If we tell Fred and George, they'll be so jealous."
"You… are you serious?" Aaron asked, startled.
"Of course, not everyone gets to enjoy such a novel experience," Ron said proudly.
Aaron glanced at the sun hanging in the sky, then thought about the eight hours of driving time, and couldn't help but sigh in his heart that these two were truly brave warriors!
"Aaron, do you want to try it too? There's still space in the car, anyway," Harry suggested.
Aaron quickly shook his head, "I don't need to; even if I wanted to experience it, it wouldn't be at this time."
After speaking, Aaron was about to return to the compartment, but suddenly remembered something, turned his head, and looked at the two. "If possible, you should still make the car invisible!
This is the wilderness, and a railway bridge, so there won't be many people, but further ahead, it's not certain.
And it will be more convenient for you later."
"We want to, but…" Ron pointed helplessly at the invisibility booster under the dashboard. "It's broken; this car can't turn invisible."
"Ah!" Aaron drew out the sound. "I sincerely… wish you good luck. I hope you can make it to Hogwarts."
"What do you mean?" Harry asked somewhat nervously; he always felt there was a hidden meaning in Aaron's words.
"You'll understand in a few hours," Aaron pointed at the sky, then returned the way he came without looking back.
"Let's go up first!" Harry said in a low voice. "We'd better be mentally prepared; I have a feeling the road ahead won't be easy."
Ron didn't argue but nodded solemnly.
He knew Aaron wasn't the type to joke around casually, and more importantly, he also heard the schadenfreude in the other person's tone.
Back in the compartment, Aaron leaned lazily against the seat. "Colin, can you do me a small favor?"
"Senior, tell me."
"Help me call the saleswoman over. I might need to buy some things."
"Ah?" Colin was stunned for a moment. "Yes, I'll go now."
Soon, the saleswoman was called over, but more than half of the snacks and drinks on the cart were gone, presumably bought by other students.
"What would you like?" the saleswoman asked, smiling at Aaron.
"Everything!"
The saleswoman was clearly delighted to hear this and enthusiastically placed the remaining snacks from the cart onto the table.
Aaron gave Abey a look. It grumbled unhappily, then poured out a dozen Galleons from its backpack. "This should be enough, right!"
"Enough, enough."
"That's good. Give the change to Colin then!
Consider it a small errand fee."
"Senior, this isn't appropriate; I didn't do anything," Colinsaid, somewhat flattered.
"If I tell you to take it, then take it. You've called me Senior, so I can't just order you around for free."
Colin nodded and put away the silver sickles and copper knuts the saleswoman gave him, as well as some Galleons that were returned.
"Why are you preparing so much food?" Draco asked curiously. "Is it for Abey, perhaps? Its appetite is indeed a bit large."
Upon hearing this, Abey immediately jumped in front of Aaron and kept rubbing its small face against Aaron's stomach.
"Only Master knows how to care for me."
Aaron's face gained a few black lines. After hesitating for a moment, he separated a portion of the food on the table. "These are yours.
The rest is for the two idiots; if they don't get some supplies, they'll probably starve to death halfway."
"Two idiots? Who?"
Aaron gave Draco a meaningful smile. "You'll know when you get to Hogwarts."
