Chapter 39 - Unnamed

Chapter 39 The Human Relationships in the Magical World

The next morning.

Aaron opened his eyes to find a dozen packages of various sizes at the foot of his bed, which he presumed were his Christmas gifts this year.

First, he opened his parents' gift, and the result was as he expected.

A postcard, showing a sunrise they had seen while sailing at sea.

"Dear son, isn't it beautiful? We originally planned to send you a photo of a sky full of stars.

But then we thought you'd probably open your gift in the morning, so here's a sunrise for you, wishing you eternal vitality."

—Vicko.

"Tsk! It's always like this." Aaron shook his head and put the postcard away.

A goose feather sent from a thousand miles away, a small gift with profound meaning!

His parents knew Aaron's family situation best, knowing he lacked nothing, so they simply sent such a commemorative gift.

The second package was from Gaius.

Aaron picked up a piece of paper from the gift box and smiled with satisfaction.

One could only say that a butler was indeed a butler; he had directly sent the profit report for the past few months from the small shop he opened in Diagon Alley.

In addition, there was also a dragon bestiary, recording all known dragon species, characteristics, and habitats in the magic world, presumably prepared for Abe, since it was a dragon of noble blood, and it was quite necessary for it to know its 'distant relatives'.

The third package was from his great-uncle.

Inside the package was a pure white Unicorn feather, a material used for making wands.

Aside from these close relatives, the rest of the items were from some of his other relatives, strange and varied, but much more practical than the first three.

Someone sent a dagger, someone sent clothes, someone sent a musical instrument, someone sent a funhouse mirror... and someone sent a large snack gift bag. As soon as it was taken out, a white figure immediately pressed its face into it.

Aaron picked up Abe with disdain, then pushed the gift bag in front of it, rubbing its dragon head several times vigorously.

Among them was also a gift from Hermione, a dental kit, including a cup, toothbrush, and toothpaste.

This made Aaron somewhat exasperated; his teeth were absolutely quite healthy, but it was better than nothing... Great Hall.

The students and Professors who remained at school gathered here for the Christmas feast.

The food for this festival was extremely lavish, and everyone ate very happily.

Aaron placed Abe on the dining table, then carried a gift box to Professor McGonagall, "Professor, this is for you."

"Mine?" Professor McGonagall pointed to herself, a little flattered, "A Christmas gift."

"Something like that!"

Professor McGonagall excitedly tore open the box, glanced at it briefly, and then instantly closed it.

"Aaron, I admit I really like this gift, I like it very, very much.

But I really can't accept it, it's too precious."

"Professor, you misunderstood. I didn't say I was giving it to you.

I'm just lending it to you, but you have to return it to me before the holidays." Aaron said earnestly.

"Really?" Professor McGonagall was a little moved, then quickly hugged the box to her chest, "Then I'll accept it. This is the best gift I've received in recent years."

"As long as you like it." Aaron smiled.

"Ahem!" Snape said coldly, "Someone seems to have forgotten that he is a Slytherin student."

"Oh! Right, this is yours, Professor Snape." Aaron took a bottle from his pocket. "This contains the bodily fluid of a magic creature. I went to great lengths to get it.

Of course, it might be useful, or it might be completely useless.

Specifically, it depends on how you, the Potion master, handle it."

As Aaron explained, Abe, who was devouring a turkey on the dining table, suddenly paused, then sniffed the air with its nose.

It turned its head and glanced at the teachers' table, a strange expression on its cute little face, then continued to eat.

Snape also didn't shy away, directly taking the bottle from Aaron's hand, bringing it to his nose for a slight sniff, then his expression changed slightly, "Aaron, what magic creature is this?

This material is very... unique. I've indeed never seen it before.

Or rather, I've seen it, but I've forgotten it.

But no matter which one it is, it indicates that this magiccreature is particularly rare."

"Uh... I'm afraid I can't tell you." Aaron said seriously. Everyone has their own secrets, and he certainly couldn't tell Snape that the bottle contained Abe's saliva.

"So mysterious." Snape said, then tucked the bottle into his pocket.

"Aaron, do I have a gift?" Professor Flitwick asked awkwardly, "Of course, if not, pretend I didn't ask."

"There is one." Aaron took out a writing brush and handed it over.

"This..." Professor Flitwick became even more embarrassed, "If I'm not mistaken, the material of this brush tip is a Unicorn feather, isn't it?"

"That's right, I hope you like it."

"I love it too much."

"Gai... Mr. Gaius, perhaps I shouldn't... ask this way.

But, a gift, do I have one?"

Aaron glanced at Quirrell, who was sitting at the teachers' table speaking incoherently, and showed an awkward yet polite smile, "Sorry, Professor, I cannot use family assets during school.

Professor Snape and their gifts were all obtained through my personal channels. Plus the gifts for other friends, my money is almost spent, so..."

"It's alright, I understand." Quirrell said, covering his mouth, looking a little wronged.

"I'm very sorry, Professor, this was my oversight.

How about I prepare another gift for you next Christmas?" Aaron comforted him apologetically, but what he was thinking was that he would be dead after this school year, and burning some paper money for him next Christmaswould be enough.

Walking down from the teachers' table, Aaron returned to his seat and began to enjoy the feast.

Soon, Harry and Ron came over, wearing sweaters of the same style, the same as Percy, Fred, and George.

"You truly are good friends, even your taste in clothes is the same!" Aaron teased, "They look quite warm."

Harry gave an awkward laugh. This was the second-best gift he had ever received in his life; the first was a package sent to him by a stranger this morning, containing his father's relic, an Invisibility Cloak.

"Right!" Ron said proudly, "My mom made these by hand. Every Christmas, we all receive gifts like this, but this year Harry is added.

Oh, and Harry also received a special gift, do you know what it is?"

"Ron!" Harry glared at him.

"Sorry, his gift is quite precious, he doesn't want too many people to know."

Aaron raised an eyebrow. If Harry hadn't stopped Ron in time, he probably would have made it known to everyone very quickly.

"Um... Aaron, Merry Christmas."

"Mm! Merry Christmas." Aaron looked at Harry, "Just say whatever you have to say quickly! I'm even anxious for you."

"Alright!

First, thank you for my gift, I really like those picture cards."

"Yes." Ron immediately interjected, "That was the most practical gift I've ever received in my life, one Galleon, one Silver Sickle, one Bronze Knut.

But why did you give me money?"

"Because that's probably what you really want, and what you urgently need, while Harry isn't particularly short on money."

"Makes sense!" Ron nodded in agreement.

"Ahem!" Harry cleared his throat, then subtly glanced at the teachers' table. Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, he spoke, "And then there's something I need to ask you. I want to go to the Restricted Section to look for clues about Nicolas Flamel, so..."

"Pfft!" Aaron almost sprayed out the food he was halfway through eating. He looked at Harry in astonishment, "No way! You haven't given up yet?

It's still the same thing, I can't help you with this.

The Restricted Section is not for first-year students."

"But why can you go?" Ron said, somewhat unconvinced, "Harry and I saw you in the library before, and Madam Pince let you into the Restricted Section. Does that mean you're not a first-year student?"

Aaron turned his head, gave Ron a meaningful look, then patted his shoulder, "Ron, people are different.

You know, our Dean thinks highly of me, so getting a pass is just a matter of minutes."

Harry's mouth twitched, and he said with a wry smile, "But Aaron, this matter is really important, I..."

"Stop, no matter how important it is, it has nothing to do with me." Aaron said seriously, "In some areas, I can give you some help, but in some areas, absolutely not.

Again, the Restricted Section is a bit too early for you."
