Manson walked away without waiting for Ryan's response, his strides fastened through the hallway as his gaze searched for any signs of Fiona.
"That buffalo is getting on my nerves," his eyes darkened further, "I will just have to put a stop to this nonsense. It's time I look into the private investigation Brian sent me a month ago."
He rounded a corner just then Alexander's calm voice drifted through the quiet hallway.
"Is it because of him?" Alexander's voice trembled slightly. "Is that why you stopped answering my calls?"
"No," she held his gaze, "I simply choose not to."
"Fin."
Anger flashes instantly across her eyes.
"I told you, don't call me Fin!"
Alexander flinched
"I'm sorry," his expression crumbled, "Fiona."
Unable to stop himself he reached for her hands.

Fiona slapped his hands away before he could touch her. His hand froze mid air as pain flashes across his eyes.
