Brian's footsteps slowed then came to a precise halt.
"Miss, if you're done with breakfast, Sonia will escort you to the visitors' living room."
Fiona blinked. "Huh?"
"I will be waiting for you there, miss," Brian added, his tone polite yet final. Without another word, he turned and left.
Fiona frowned, her brows knitting together.
"What's going on now…? Is that lunatic there?" she muttered under her breath.

Moments later, Sonia guided her down the quiet corridor. The air felt heavier, like something unseen was waiting ahead.
They stopped before a large door.
"Ma'am, this is where I stop." Sonia bowed respectfully.
"Thanks," Fiona replied, her voice softer this time.
Sonia turned and left without another word.
Silence.
Fiona stood there, her fingers curling slowly around the handle. She hesitated just for a second. Then, with a quiet breath, she pushed the door open and stepped inside.
