Instructor Frank was surprised by Felix and Krisha's presence as well in the Modular Terrain Floor.

It was arrange this way to train the disciples to get accustomed of fighting in different environment. Inevitably, most of them would venture outside the Chambers City to help lessen the amount of wild beasts outside.
Felix and Krisha was aware of all the possible terrain configurations. They couldn't predict what specific configuration would manifest during their duel, so they visualized every scenario with their beast pet.
A moment later, all the disciples returned, but they remained outside of the Beast Sync Arena. Only those inside would be participating for the first round.
Since Felix and Krisha had already occupied it first, it would be meaningless to attempt snatching the first round from them.
