Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Third Loop Begins

After leaning against Lucien arms for a while, Jenny finally calmed down somewhat.

"But there are really a lot of viewers, and quite a few people sent gifts too," she mumbled.

Livestreaming was all about creating good content. In just those few minutes earlier,

Jenny already felt that this was the peak of her entire streaming career over all these years. The gifts had been pouring in like crazy.

"Indeed it is." Lucien nodded in agreement:

"I checked just now. In those few minutes you were streaming, your stream already hit number one in popularity on Twitch."

"Really?" Jenny was somewhat surprised.

She had been completely immersed in the game earlier and had not paid attention to those details.

She had always been only a mid-tier streamer, still quite a distance away from top streamers like xQc or Pokimane.

Yet now, the popularity of her livestream room had surpassed every other streamer and successfully claimed the top spot!

"However, it's fine, Jen. In the future we'll have plenty of money. You won't need to stream anymore. You can just enjoy life in peace." Lucien added.

He was speaking the truth. Once he released his games one after another in the future, they would definitely make a fortune.

"Phew... I'll keep playing then!"

However, Jenny completely ignored the latter part of what Lucien's said. She was shocked by the popularity of her own livestream.

Jenny was quite ambitious. Hearing how high the popularity was, she suddenly felt reluctant to stop.

"You should still take it easy." Lucien continued. He was genuinely worried something might happen to her.

"It's fine. It's all fake anyway. No matter how scary that ghost is, it can't actually eat me!"

Jenny took a deep breath and said, then turned to leave: "I'm going back to streaming."

Seeing how determined Jenny was, Lucien had no choice but to let her go.

Jenny wiped the tears off her face and returned in front of the camera:

"Sorry about that, everyone. I stepped away for a bit. I wasn't putting on an act earlier. I really did get scared."

"This time it really isn't Jenny fault. It was honestly too scary!"

"True. Even tho i was just watching the stream. I almost pissed myself."

"Although I feel bad for Jenny, I still hope she continues playing!"

"Indeed, the realism of this game is just too strong!"

"Enough talking. Sending Jenny a few rockets to help calm her nerves!"

In an instant, Jenny's livestream room was flooded with gifts again. She glanced at the popularity once more and was shocked.

The actual number of online viewers had reached a terrifying three hundred thousand, and it was still climbing rapidly!

Even top streamers like Pokimane usually only peaked at around a hundred thousand viewers or so.

This further strengthened Jenny's determination to keep playing!

"Alright then. Since all you chats are saying so, I'll keep going!"

She shouted boldly, then returned to the VR platform once more.

After putting on the haptic suit and taking a deep breath, Jenny put the VR headset back on.

Whoosh!

Her vision changed dramatically. She was once again standing in that eerie, sinister corridor.

At this moment, her character had not died. She was still standing perfectly fine in front of the bathroom, and the bathroom door was closed once again.

Recalling the door-slamming ghost from inside the bathroom earlier, Jenny quickly took several steps back, putting more distance between herself and the bathroom.

Now that she knew there was a ghost inside the bathroom, she absolutely did not dare check it anymore.

How about checking the front door again?

With this thought in mind, Jenny crept back to the front door and gently turned the doorknob.

Click.

This time, the front door opened easily.

"Damn it. They deliberately locked the front door just to force me to check the bathroom. This damn designer is so disgusting!"

Jenny cursed angrily.

"By the way, Jenny, did you notice that the ghost hiding in the bathroom seemed to be a little girl?"

"Yeah, she did look quite young!"

"Her voice sounded like it too."

"I don't care, I'm c--"

The bullet comments in the livestream room began discussing the fierce ghost that had flashed past in the bathroom burying the weird comment.

Jenny carefully recalled it as well and said. "You're right. It really did seem like a little girl."

As the person who had personally experienced the terrifying event, she had seen it the clearest. She had just been too scared earlier to think about it.

Thinking about it now, the ghost in the bathroom was probably only half her height, and her laughter had also sounded like a little girl's.

However, the little girl's face looked horribly disfigured, which was what made it so terrifying.

If she had to guess, she was probably the daughter who had been killed by her father in the case.

According to the earlier case report, the little girl had been shot in the head with a shotgun by the man. That was clearly why her face was so badly damaged.

Jenny fell silent. Suddenly, she felt a pang of sympathy for the poor little ghost.

Killed by her own father, then trapped here forever, unable to be reincarnated.

With this thought flashing through her mind, Jenny pushed open the front door in front of her and stepped inside.

Bang!

After entering, the front door closed by itself once again, completely out of her control.

Jenny turned the doorknob, but it had already locked automatically.

And so, she had returned to where the nightmare began, back in this familiar corridor.

The third loop had begun.
