Chapter 14 - The town of Harith'Aano.3

"This sword is enchanted with anti-healing, and it also has a dual-attributed purification ability."

Place examined the longsword in his hands.

"Made for creatures of the night." He stated, to which the man nodded.

"I want something more general." He handed the sword back to the shopkeeper.

"More general? I don't think we have something completely general like that."

He put the sword to the side and picked up another one.

"This one might be what you want, it has the basics and enchantments of shield-piercing and strength."

"A bit on the lighter side..." It was almost a rapier.

"Well-made for shield-piercing." The man commented, and Place nodded. The speed would help.

"Have something for friendly spars?"

"That's the best one." The shopkeeper gestured to the blade in Place's hands.

"I'll take it." Place handed it back to Junior, who tossed it to the elder sitting, who caught it without even looking up from his book.

"So, backup daggers, I believe you said." He turned back to the pile and began to pick out a few things.

"We have a few options here."

"This one," He held up a seemingly plain dagger. "Armor-dissolving." He declared.

"You stab this into anything, it's going to start melting it, very painful."

Place let out a non-commital 'hn' sound. He did not have monster hunting planned, but having something like that could be useful.

"If not that, this one," He exchanged it for a much longer and thinner one, with a golden pattern.

"Lightning-enchanted, stab it into flesh, and that creature is going to start burning on the inside and dancing on the outside at the same time."

"Hn." A bit too lethal, and also ruins harvestable material. Might be unstable.

"This one." This time, it was a blue blade with a golden hilt. "Made from a Paqu shell. Enchanted with anti-healing, and the shell gives it a bit of paralysing poison."

"Hn." That one was good, and Paqu shells were quite sturdy.

"And lastly," was a pouch.

"These are made for one-time use." He opened the pouch and brought out a throwing knife.

It had a red engraving on its blade.

"Enchanted to pierce, and then, go 'Boom'!"

"Oh?" Now this was interesting.

"Six of them in total, each of them powerful enough to blow up a wall."

Place took the offered knife and examined it.

Against something slower, or set as a trap, these would be very good, but there was a problem.

"What's the trigger for the explosions?" Place asked as he tossed the blade lightly.

"It needs to be stabbed into something. It won't go off because of a good smack."

That was good.

"I'll take them."

"Any of the others? The lightning one?"

"No need." He had a better one already.

"As you wish." The knife was placed back in the pouch, which was sequentially tossed to Senior.

"Next up, armor."

"Skip the armor, just the shield." Place stopped him from picking up armor.

"Changed your mind?" Junior questioned as he moved to pick out shields.

"Something like that."

"You're the customer." He didn't take it to heart. "We have two shields for you."

He handed a tower shield to Place.

"This one has an active barrier array and a rebound enchant!" He gestured with his hands, mimicking pushing back opponents with the shield.

"And the other one?" Place handed it back.

"Built for endurance." Arma Jr. picked up the second one, this one was circular.

"This wouldn't break if you threw a building at it, nothing but a dozen endurance and absorbing enchantment, along with self-repairing and anti-breaking."

"I'll take it."

Tossed.

"Will that be all?"

Place looked at the two men who were accompanying him.

They had not chosen anything and were just watching.

"You guys want anything?"

They shook their heads as one.

"We've got all we need."

Place shrugged and turned back to Arma Jr.

"That will be it."

"If you say so." Junior gestured to Senior.

"That will be 320 Pith'maan."

"That's a bit on the high side," Babis spoke up, and Ernote nodded from the side.

Senior took his eyes off his book for the first time since they had entered.

"All of that costs about... 230?" Babis looked at Place in question.

"Not more than 250." Place spoke out his own calculations.

"300 Pith'maan." Senior rounded the number down.

"Acceptable." Places looked at Ernote, who removed a glove and started caressing a ring.

"We don't have that much... Would you accept a hundred Pith'maan and some gold?"

"That's alright." Junior spoke up, stopping whatever Senior was going to say.

Ernote stepped up to the counter and waved a hand over it.

A hundred small, black cubes and forty-something gold coins materialized on it.

"That should be enough." He moved to the side and placed the recently bought weapons into his ring.

"Thank you for your purchase," Junior said as Senior looked over the payment. "Do return if you need weapons."

They stepped out of the shop.

"I'm feeling a bit hungry, how about a restaurant?"

Ernote tugged down his glove as he spoke.

Place did not respond.

"Young sir?" Babis asked.

"One moment." Place held up a finger.

A moment ago, there was a voice in his head.

'I've got a mission for you!'
