Chapter 2 - Unusual Signal

After Maria's father was proven innocent, the classroom became unusually noisy.

Everyone was talking about what happened.

Maria slowly walked toward Miki's desk.

Maria: "Thank you…"

Miki: "No need."

Maria: "How did you know my father was innocent?"

Miki looked outside the window.

Miki: "Evidence always speaks louder than fear."

Maria stayed silent.

Before she could say anything else, Miki's phone vibrated.

Unknown sender.

A single message appeared:

Sector 4 anomaly detected. Immediate response required.

Miki quietly locked the screen.

His expression changed for a moment.

Calm. Sharp. Focused.

After school, Miki walked alone through the street.

A black crow landed on an electric pole nearby.

It stared directly at him.

Then it spoke in a rough voice only he could understand.

"Do not go west… something is waiting there…"

Miki stopped walking.

Miki: "How many?"

"Two humans… and one shadow…"

Without hesitation, he changed direction.

Night.

An old warehouse near the edge of the city.

The area was already secured by Foundation agents.

Two armed personnel stood near the entrance.

One of them looked at Miki.

Agent: "Subject is unstable."

Miki entered quietly.

Inside, broken lights flickered.

There were blood marks on the floor.

A metallic sound echoed above.

Then—

A whisper.

"You came…"

Miki stopped.

That voice was not human.

He closed his eyes.

Telepathy.

A broken thought reached him—

1966… subject… incomplete…

His eyes narrowed.

Miki: "Who are you?"

From the darkness, a pale figure slowly appeared.

A child.

Transparent.

Ghost-like.

Empty eyes.

Then the figure spoke softly:

"I could not survive…"

Miki immediately understood—

This was connected to Experiment 1966.

The ghost slowly turned its head toward the wall.

Then whispered:

"They started again…"

At that exact moment—

All lights went out.

Emergency alarms began ringing.

Miki raised his hand calmly.

A metal rod on the ground moved through the air into his hand using telekinesis.

He looked into the darkness and said:

Miki: "Then tonight begins another mystery."
