"Yo," I said running up to the swing set in the park near my house. The metal frame gleamed under the streetlights, swinging gently in the evening breeze, the chains clinking with a rhythmic, metallic echo.
I couldn't believe that I ended dinner early and actually ran here from hotpot after just receiving one text from Lucas.
I literally couldn't help it though.
Evelyn seemed ok with this although she wouldn't elaborate on why a vampire was worse than she expected from me. That paired with the fact I had so many damn questions for Lucas that I wouldn't forget to ask this time.
Like who was that buzzcut guy? What do I do to not transform?
What next?
"Sorry I'm late, did you wait long?" I asked.
"What's that demon smell on you?" Lucas glared.
Can he smell Evelyn? "My sister and I were having hotpot. She's not a demon though, just a familiar." I quickly explained.
"Hm." He said.
Silence.
