When we arrived back home, I was floored on what happens next. Darius wasn't all over me as usual and that bothered me.
"What's your issue?" I asked.
"What?"
"I killed her! Where's my reward?" Strangely enough, I felt stronger about this than killing her. I felt nothing in front of my long time tormentor corpse yet in front of Darius, my body was thrumming with a wild, untamed fire that demanded release.
Darius smirked, his eyes flashing with infernal heat. "Are you sure? I'm all pent up from acting like your Prince Charming for the past month."
Leave it to him to crush my dreams.
"Then drop the act already. You're a demon," I begged, my voice a ragged snarl, every nerve screaming for him to unleash and make me feel something.
"Well then get ready," he growled low, shoving me onto the bed with a force that rattled the frame.
