I walked back into school feeling like a million bucks and boy had the atmosphere changed dramatically. Even more than when Helen died. It was as if a fog had lifted and the once gloomy school had turned into a... well a regular shitty place.
"Do you think things feel weird?" Pinky asked.
"Yeah but realistically, what does that have to do with us?" I asked.
"I mean I'm pretty sure everyone saw the news broadcast this morning before school," Pinky said.
I saw it. A deputy detective saying a gas leak caused the explosion and at the same time a serial murderer was cannibalizing the police chiefs daughter killing them both. It was revealed this guy was a mentally ill convict that was in contact with the victim for several months before he had eventually killed her.
They were currently still looking for a motive. "Well at least they aren't blaming you this time."
A small win.
"Well it's thanks to your quick thinking that we were able to... you know," I said.
