Michael picked up the largest designer bag, pulling out a large box; a limited-edition, collector's Barbie doll set.
It featured eight distinct Barbie dolls dressed in custom gowns, complete with a dozen interchangeable princess dresses. Inside a smaller velvet box were several delicate crystal hairpins studded with tiny diamonds. Michael picked one out and gently clipped it into Clara's hair.
"Do you like it?" Michael asked gently. Whatever his daughter liked, he made sure she received. She had mentioned this specific collector's set a month ago, and he had remembered every detail.
Holding the Barbie set in her arms, Clara nodded vigorously. "I love it! Thank you, Daddy!"
She scrambled down from Michael's lap, set the box on the low tea table, and eagerly began opening it.
Meanwhile, Michael pulled out a sleek, tailored laptop bag and handed it to Lucian. "And this is for you. A custom-built, encrypted tablet with advanced coding interfaces."
