A few minutes later, the door opened, and Alen walked in alongside his wife, Vivian, who was pushing their little son in a stroller.
Evelyn quickly composed her emotions and stood up with a warm smile. "Come to Auntie, little Bennert!" She took her big-eyed little nephew into her arms.
Alen looked around the empty room. "Where's Michael?"
Holding the baby, Evelyn's expression faltered slightly. "Maybe... he left."
Vivian and Alen exchanged a quick look. What happened between those two?
Looking at his sister playing with the baby, Alen wanted to say something, but in the end, held his tongue.
A moment later, the door to the private room was pushed open by the waiter. Walking in side-by-side were the composed, elegant Michael Thorn and a smiling Jackson.
Seeing that he hadn't left, Evelyn's heart settled back down inexplicably.
