Mercury Hotel
Evelyn sat on the narrow sofa, chewing on fresh dragon fruit while watching cartoons on the small television screen.
A rhythmic knock suddenly sounded at the door.
"Who is it?" she asked warily, pausing her chewing.
After a three-second delay, an unfamiliar voice responded, "Police inspection! Open up!"
Evelyn set her fruit fork down, supporting her large baby bump as she stood up to open the door.
The cheap hotel door lacked a peephole, so she simply pulled it open.
The sight of the towering man standing outside triggered her immediate instinct: shut the door!
However, before the wooden panel could snap shut, a broad palm jammed it open, and he forced his way inside.
In the next second, Michael slammed the door shut behind him, pulling her into a fierce, breathless kiss before she could even protest.
He finally released her lips only when she was completely gasping for air.
"My, aren't you fast?" she wheezed, glaring up at him sarcastically.
