Chapter 35 - The Cullen game

While the women settled comfortably into the massive estate, the world outside descended into absolute chaos.

Kenjaku had officially initiated the Culling Game. Japan was rapidly transforming into a deadly battlefield. Barriers were erected over major cities, locking civilians and sorcerers alike into lethal deathmatches. Rules were established: points, killing, and survival. The Jujutsu world was scrambling.

The atmosphere in the main hall was heavy, a stark contrast to the luxurious lightheartedness of the previous day. Megumi looked exhausted, sitting with his arms crossed. Yuji was practically vibrating with anxiety. Choso, along with his brothers Eso and Kechizu—now transformed into attractive young women—sat with solemn expressions.

The group was completed by the final member: Yuma Okkotsu. She looked absolutely wrecked—disheveled black hair falling into exhausted dark blue eyes, massive dark circles underscoring intense sleep deprivation. She looked like someone who had been carrying the weight of the world for weeks without sleep.

Yuji rubbed his neck anxiously. "Kenjaku started the Culling Game."

The atmosphere in the main hall grew even heavier as Megumi laid out their current understanding of the Culling Game's true nature. Aiden listened intently, his expression darkening with each revelation.

"The barriers aren't just containment fields," Megumi explained, sketching on a notepad. "They're ritualistic in nature."

Megumi's hand traced patterns on the notepad as he spoke. "Each colony acts like a battery, collecting energy from every death and every cursed technique activation within its borders. The energy is stored and concentrated."

Yuji nodded grimly. "Kenjaku's playing a long game. We don't know his endgame yet, but this setup... it's too deliberate."

Megumi paused, looking up from his sketches. "Master Tengen is the only one who can truly understand the nature of these barriers. Their technique is the foundation of the entire Jujutsu system. If anyone can explain how Kenjaku is manipulating them, it's them."

Yuma shifted in her seat, dark circles under her eyes seeming to deepen.

Yuma's voice was hoarse from exhaustion. "Tengen-sama... they've been silent for weeks. Completely unreachable. The Tokyo School staff has tried everything." She rubbed her temples. "Without their insight, we're blind. We don't even know if the barriers are stable or if Kenjaku is corrupting their fundamental nature."

"Choso should be able to find them because his six younger brothers and they're being held in the same facility as Tengen."

Choso's eyes narrowed, his lips curling into a determined smirk. "You're right. If my brothers are there, I can sense their presence. Tengen-sama's energy signature is unique—if they're being held in the same facility, I should be able to lock onto them."

"That's our ticket in," Yuji realized immediately. "If Choso can sense his brothers, we can locate the facility, bypass whatever security Kenjaku has in place, and get straight to Tengen."

Megumi nodded firmly. "We need answers. Without Tengen, we're fighting a ritual we don't understand. Choso takes point on finding them."

"Okay me, yorozu and Maki are going with them."

The group split off. Choso's eyes darkened with resolve. "I know my brothers are there. I'll take the lead."

Yorozu adjusted her weapon with a smirk. "This should be interesting." She already seemed entertained by the whole situation.

Maki checked her cursed tool, her expression unreadable. She'd heard the rumors about the facility before today.

Maki loaded a few magazines for her cursed tool, sliding them into her belt with practiced efficiency. Yorozu stretched her arms, her construct-technique buzzing faintly beneath her skin, eager for a fight.

With Choso leading the way, following the faint, invisible tether connecting him to his brothers, the group set out.

Choso led them through the winding tunnels beneath the Jujutsu Headquarters, moving with predatory precision. The faint psychic tether connecting him to his brothers pulled him forward like a compass needle. Aiden walked beside him, with Yorozu and Maki flanking their rear.

They eventually reached a heavy, sealed barrier. Standing calmly before it was Yuki Tsukumo.

"Easy, Yuki," Choso said firmly, though there was deep respect in his tone. "My brothers are in there. I can feel them." He tapped his chest. "That connection doesn't lie. If they're being held in the same facility as Master Tengen, we need answers."

Yorozu smirked, leaning casually against the wall.

Yuki waved her hand dismissively. "Follow me. But don't say I didn't warn you—security is tight. Kenjaku's been active, and Tengen's been... unresponsive. Might be better off if you're careful about what you see."

She led them down dark corridors, past heavy doors reinforced with cursed seals.

Yuki led them deeper, past corridors reinforced with heavy cursed seals. Every few meters, she paused to check the barriers—some had been tampered with, others completely overridden.

"This whole facility was Tengen's personal sanctuary," she explained grimly. "Disconnected from the rest of Jujutsu High. Safe." She stopped at a massive sealed door.

"Something's wrong," Choso muttered, his brow furrowed. His connection to his brothers—Eso and Kechizu—was pulsing with urgency. They were close. Very close.

Maki gripped her cursed tool tighter. Yorozu circled the perimeter, her construct technique already mapping out potential exits. Aiden stood still, his enhanced senses picking up something the others couldn't yet.

Suddenly, the dark corridor was engulfed in a brilliant white light. The group shielded their eyes as the void before them transformed, revealing a pristine, almost ethereal chamber. Standing calmly in the center was Tengen, their form shimmering with an otherworldly aura. The barriers that had been so tense just moments ago now radiated a peaceful, yet powerful, energy.

"Yuki Tsukumo," Tengen's voice resonated through the chamber, genderless and ancient. "You brought visitors. Unannounced."

Yuki bowed her head respectfully. "They came of their own will, Tengen. Choso feels his brothers in here."

Tengen's attention shifted to Choso, then over the group.

Tengen's serene demeanor faltered. Their ethereal eyes locked onto Aiden with unsettling precision, seeing far deeper than any sorcerer's gaze. The light around Tengen shifted, flickers of concern crossing their ageless features.

"This one," Tengen murmured, floating closer toward Aiden, ignoring the rest of the group. "How does a soul like that exist?"

"Explain the Cullen game, Plus Kenjaku's Plan and I'll tell you."

Tengen drifted closer, their multiple eyes studying Aiden's soul like ancient script. "You are... an impossibility. Half human, half cursed spirit. Multiple cursed techniques. Multiple curses stored within. A domain that mimics everything." They tilted their head. "But that is not what worries me."

Their gaze darkened. "Kenjaku has activated the Culling Game."

"The merger of Japan has begun," Tengen stated gravely. "Kenjaku has forced sorcerers and cursed spirits into a brutal, free-for-all deathmatch. Players accumulate points by killing others. Those points can be used to manipulate the rules, revive the dead, or escape." Their expression hardened. "Kenjaku's ultimate goal is forced evolution."

Tengen's voice dropped, chilling and ancient. "Kenjaku seeks forced evolution. The merger of all cursed energy—humanity itself—with my soul. A complete collapse of the distinction between cursed energy and human consciousness." Their ethereal form flickered, almost losing shape. "Total assimilation. All of humanity would become one with me. A single, unified, unstoppable force."

"And that's where the catastrophe lies," Tengen's voice grew heavier. "Humanity is not inherently pure. Within a few billion souls, there are darkness—horrible desires, twisted ambitions. If Kenjaku succeeds in merging them into my soul, even one single impure thought from one human could corrupt the entire collective." Their multiple eyes stared intently at Aiden.

Tengen recognized that look instantly. Absolute comprehension. No shock. No hesitation. Aiden hadn't just understood the explanation—he had known it perfectly before the words left Tengen's lips.

"You knew," Tengen stated softly, their ethereal form stilling completely. "You already understood the mechanics of the merger. The risk of collective corruption." The ancient entity studied him deeper.

"Now you want to know how I know don't you?"

Tengen's form pulsed with an intense curiosity, their multiple eyes narrowing. "Indeed," they whispered, voice barely audible. "How does a mere sorcerer—even one as unique as you—possess knowledge of my most guarded secrets? The mechanics of the merger... the potential for collective corruption..."

"Well, it's complicated, but I'll explain it in the most simplest Terms for everyone here."

The group went silent. Even Yuki leaned forward, intrigued. Choso sensed something deeper beneath Aiden's calm demeanor. Yorozu smiled knowingly—she always appreciated someone who held secrets. Maki studied Aiden's face, cataloging every expression.

"Speak," Tengen commanded, their ethereal form shimmering with anticipation. The ancient entity had waited centuries for answers to certain questions.

"first, just keep it a secret to everyone in this room. second Does the word isekai mean anything?"

The room fell completely silent. Yuki's eyes widened. Maki's grip tightened on her cursed tool. Yorozu's smirk faded. Choso tilted his head.

Tengen's ethereal form pulsed with sudden interest. "Isekai. Another world. A transfer of existence from one reality to another." Their multiple eyes locked onto Aiden with renewed intensity. "You are telling me you originated from a completely different world?"

"well it was more of a transference than anything you see in my world similar to yours are manga and anime, and in one of those manga is this world called jujutsu Kaisen or JJK I was a massive fan of it. I even went ahead and read the entire mango and the spinoff series of it.I was a massive fan of it. I even went ahead and read the entire manga and the spinoff series of it and watched every season, which was why when a notification popped up on my computer screen, saying if I could be in universe and design my body I decided. I gave myself a heavenly restriction, altered so that I still have the vital physical strength, but I'd still have massive reserves. plus five different techniques. those techniques are Idle TRANSFORMATION, THE 10 SHADOWS TECHNIQUE, STAR RAGE, SHRINE, Cursed spirit Manipulation. I chose these specific ones because I want to diversity instead of all-out power I made myself a half-cursed spirit and set my family to random unfortunately it was Zenin."

The silence in the chamber was absolute. Even Tengen, who had existed for centuries and seen every conceivable secret of Jujutsu sorcery, stood frozen. The sheer impossibility of the revelation hung heavy in the air.

"A fictional world," Yuki whispered, her skepticism warring with the impossible reality standing before her. "You read our history... our future... as entertainment."

"before you start questioning your reality, yes you are very real. I believe that subconsciously the writers were writing your story before and after it happened. So no need for an existential crisis."

Yuki blinked, processing the logic before letting out a short, dry laugh. "That is... terrifyingly comforting. So, our suffering was just entertainment for another world, but our consciousness and experiences are real?" She rubbed her temples, trying to reconcile the absurdity.

Maki looked more disturbed. "So, the Zenin clan? My family's oppression? That was written too?"

"Oh no, Our family just messed up like seriously messed up."

Maki let out a humorless snort. "At least someone knows how terrible they are." She crossed her arms, but there was a flicker of relief—perhaps her clan's cruelty wasn't fated, just pathetic.

Tengen floated closer, their ethereal form buzzing with new energy. "You hold knowledge of future events then. Kenjaku's plans."

"Yes, I do, but if I share that, a lot of things will change, which is why Shibuya was a whole lot worse than it should've been my knee has to open the stretch of death, but with my intervention things got a whole lot worse."

"Because you altered the timeline by being here," Tengen deduced, their tone grave. "Shibuya was intended to be a decisive victory, but your intervention... caused more casualties, more destruction." Their eyes flicked to Yuki and Maki, who both looked shocked.

"Actually, no you still would've lost and people still would've died regardless it just wouldn't have been as much as it is now."

Tengen paused, processing this. "You intervened, yet somehow worsened the outcome." Their multiple eyes narrowed with an inscrutable intensity. "Explain. If Shibuya was already destined to be a catastrophe, why did your presence make it worse?"

Yuki's jaw tightened. "Wait, you were there? During Shibuya?"

"Yes, I was things got worse because I tried to do things on my own not telling you guys about it afraid what might happen and the thing I didn't want to happen happened Sukuna West St. Louis and I had to fight him, which is why the destruction is about five times bigger than it should've been."

The room went cold. Yuki visibly paled. "Sukuna... awoke?" She swallowed hard. "And you fought the King of Curses alone?"

Tengen's ethereal form flickered. "Five times the destruction. The Shibuya incident was already apocalyptic, but your battle with Sukuna..." They trailed off, calculating the devastation.

"yes, that's why everything turned out bad or worse than was originally The original timeline Megumi Would summon Mahoraga and sukuna Would fight it causing The destruction."

Tengen's form stilled entirely. The implication hung heavy. "The original timeline... Sukuna would have fought Mahoraga. A controlled devastation compared to what actually happened." Their gaze sharpened. "You fought Sukuna directly... alone. The destruction increased fivefold."

Maki's face went stone-cold.

"It increased because unlike the shaking arm, I'm smart. I don't throw random things and hope to win."

Maki's eyebrow twitched, a mix of insult and annoyance crossing her face. "So instead of a battle of attrition, you turned it into a calculated slaughterfest that leveled five city blocks because you refused to just 'throw things'?"

Yuki let out a low whistle, crossing her arms. "You fought Sukuna with brain over brawn and somehow caused *more* destruction?"

"OK, can we get back on topic?"

Yuki held up her hands, surrendering the point immediately. "Fair enough. The destruction of Shibuya is a conversation for another time." She gestured toward Tengen. "We were discussing the merger."

Maki relaxed her posture slightly, though her eyes remained sharp. Tengen floated back to the center of attention, their multiple eyes refocusing on you.

Tengen immediately reclaimed the focus, their ethereal form shimmering seriously. "The primary concern remains the merger. You possess foreknowledge of Kenjaku's plan, and you have the specific capability to disrupt it."

Their multiple eyes locked onto yours. "You have five techniques, monstrous reserves, and physically dominate despite your Heavenly Restriction. You are effectively the perfect counter to this catastrophe."

"OK Kenjaku Needs you in order to put his Plan right so two of us should stay behind and guard you."

Tengen's form flickered with surprise. A rare emotion for a centuries-old being. "You wish to guard me? No sorcerer has ever volunteered for such a duty."

Choso spoke up immediately, his voice unwavering. "I will stay."

Yuki smiled approvingly. "Count me in."

"OK, as for the rest of us, we go and Gear up and enter separate colonies So if we're the last ones in the colony, we don't have to kill each other."

Maki's expression shifted from skepticism to something resembling respect. "You're actually planning ahead. Not just trying to be a hero alone this time." She smirked. "Smart."

Yorozu tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Separate colonies... we eliminate our own competition without creating unnecessary casualties among allies. Efficient."

Tengen nodded slowly. "A sound strategy."

"But there's one problem with that we don't know how many people are inside the colonies It could be 100 so just in case teams have two."

Tengen nodded slowly, processing the logic. "Dividing our forces into pairs mitigates the risk of being overwhelmed by sheer numbers. It also ensures backup if one faces a specialized threat."

Maki crossed her arms, looking at you. "So who pairs with who? We need teams that cover each other's blind spots."

"Me and Yorozu are one team. Megumi and yuji are another maki I would recommend going to the Zenin clan getting some powerful curse tools, and on your way back find Panda." said Aiden

Maki's eye twitched at the mention of the Zenin clan. "The Zenin clan... you want me to actually *go* there? Intentionally walk into that nest of snakes?" She scoffed, though she clearly hated admitting it—she needed those tools.

Yuki stroked her chin. "Makes sense. Panda's location is unknown right now."

"Megumi is now technically the clan head so he can give you the keys." said Aiden, looking at megumi.

Megumi looked up sharply at the mention of his name, clearly caught off guard by the revelation of his clan head status. "I... what? Clan head?" He rubbed his temple, clearly not expecting this burden.

Maki turned to him slowly, her expression unreadable. "Since when are you head of the Zenin clan?"

Yuji blinked innocently.

"it was in the old clan heads wheel that you became clan head."

Megumi's face went pale. "The succession wheel... I didn't even know that existed." He looked down at his hands, processing the weight of this new responsibility. "So I have authority over the Zenin clan's resources and cursed tools?"

Maki smirked. "Looks like the brat actually inherited something useful."

Yuji grinned and slapped Megumi on the back.

"OK Yuma what are you going to do?"

Yuma's eyes narrowed as he considered his options. "I think I'll go solo. I've got my own methods of gathering information and dealing with threats." He paused, then added with a smirk, "Besides, I don't need a partner to hold my hand."

The room emptied slowly. Maki departed first, already muttering about Zenin clan politics. Megumi and Yuji followed, the latter waving enthusiastically. Yorozu trailed behind you, her curiosity piqued by your partnership. Yuma left with a dismissive wave.

Finally, only Yuki and Choso remained with Tengen. The ancient entity floated serenely, awaiting further instructions.
