Chapter 5: The Moment That Changed Everything
It happened so fast I didn't even realize it at first.
We were laughing.
Actually laughing.
About something stupid.
For a moment, everything felt normal.
Easy.
Like we had known each other forever.
And then—
Silence.
Our eyes met.
Too close.
Too still.
I could feel my heartbeat in my chest.
In my head.
Everywhere.
"Felix…" she said softly.
The way she said my name—
It did something to me.
Something I couldn't explain.
"What?" I whispered.
She didn't answer.
She just looked at me.
Like she was searching for something.
Or maybe…
Remembering something.
Without thinking—
I moved closer.
So did she.
And for a second…
Everything felt like it was falling into place.
Like this moment had already happened before.
Like I had lived this exact second—
Already.
Then suddenly—
A sharp pain hit my head.
I pulled back, gripping the table.
"What's wrong?" Tamika asked, panic flashing across her face.
"I… I don't know," I said, breathing hard.
Images flashed in my mind.
Blurry.
Broken.
Her face.
This place.
A voice—
"Don't forget me…"
Then—
Nothing.
The pain stopped.
Just like that.
I looked up at her.
And for the first time—
I was scared.
Because now I knew one thing for sure.
This wasn't just a coincidence.
I had known her before.
I just didn't remember how.
