Chapter 50 – Hood
"What are you doing in my chamber, I wonder, Esmeray, dear sister?" Raven asked with a soft, controlled voice, as if performing for an audience, his piercing red eyes settling on the woman sitting leisurely across from him.
Sarah stood behind him, doing her best to keep her face neutral.
The young woman smiled at her brother's words. She wore a deep black dress that barely reached her knees, her hair long and flowing like a waterfall of blood, red eyes shimmering with mischief and something primal.
Six earrings in each ear. Her right nostril pierced.
Smiling wider, she leaned forward and pressed her elbows on the crimson table at the westward side of the room, all ten fingers adorned with luxurious rings.
"Well, what else, brother?" Esmeray said, her voice slurring lazily. "I heard news. News I desperately wanted to share with you. So here I am."
