Chapter 499 – I Am Your Sister
The sky was darker that night, a kind of darkness that smelled like the prelude to a deluge.
The night was quieter than usual, too. So much so that Cassius could hear Cassandra's heart pounding loudly against her chest, to the point that he slowly started to worry.
Questions began to form. Why was she here at this hour? Why did she seem so nervous? And why, just why, was she walking so close to him, her hand trying, and failing, to hold his?
'I don't understand.'
It was troubling.
Their footfalls echoed in that silence as they walked side by side through the darkness towards the graveyard, a place Cassius hadn't visited since he had buried Coco Jones there.
A place of painful memories.
A place of death in an Academy that didn't care about the deaths of those society deemed unimportant.
