Chapter 479 – Twisted Seraphim
Seraphim was unable to stop the smile from cracking her face.
She stared at the panel for a long time, wondering just what her nephew had done for Mother System to give her something like this.
'Truly, your son is something, sister,' she mused internally, her thoughts going back to Sefira, her twin. 'And he is your youngest son. While I am here, the same age as you, without a husband or children, or even people to call my own. I only have the Hoods, and Vorn knows how damned this family is.'
Alone.
That was what she was.
Seeing Cassius's accomplishments at that instant, Seraphim wondered what it would feel like to have a son able to achieve so much.
Pride? Love? Or something else?
She truly couldn't tell.
'But it's fine.' She closed her eyes briefly. 'Not everyone is destined to love or be loved. Not everyone is destined to have children. And that's alright. Despite all of that, there are things only I can do.'
