Hearing his words, Yvonne was annoyed.
"James Taylor, have you forgotten what you had promised me?"
James knew what she meant and hurriedly said, "Of course I didn't. I just wanted to hear your voice. That's all."
She frowned. If she had known that he was so annoying, she would not have picked up the call.
"Well, now that you have heard it. I'm hanging up."
She was about to hang up the phone when she heard him speak.
"Don't, you finally picked up my call. Can't we chat a little?"
She rolled her eyes.
"What else do you want me to say?"
James paused for a moment then continued, "Are you still angry about what happened during the day? I admit that I was blunt. I promise you that I won't do it again."
Hearing his assurance, she frowned. She was no longer angry.
After all, what he said was the truth. She was angry because she was in a bad mood.
So, she said, "I'm not that petty. I'm not angry."
"Really?"
"Really."
