Janice smiled and said nothing.
Old Mr. Allson was afraid of being exposed, so he quickly changed the subject. "Come on, are you thirsty? Have some water. Today, I've had the cook prepare a table full of dishes. Let's have a big meal and forget about such unpleasant things."
After listening to his words, Janice felt a lump in her throat. She did not expect that she could find comfort from an old man she had just met.
"Thank you, sir."
Janice was a little moved.
"Yes, just call me grandpa. I'm looking forward to having a granddaughter-in-law...
granddaughter I mean."
Old Mr. Allson almost spilled the beans and quickly covered up.
Janice nodded. "Well, I'll treat you as my real grandfather in the future."
"Good girl."
It did not matter what she called him, as long as it was a family, so old Mr. Allson was happy.
