Chapter 267: Hulk vs. Revenant!
Watching the bespectacled middle-aged man — Dr. Banner — walking calmly toward him, Revenant found himself genuinely thrown.
Is this one trying to get himself killed? Revenant thought, baffled. Nothing about this human suggested he had any business standing up to him, and yet here he was, walking forward with total resolve. It made no sense.
"I know that guy — that's Dr. Banner," the livestream audience started buzzing. "What's he doing? Does he not know what Revenant can do? Or is there something between the two of them we don't know about?"
"Wait — you don't think Banner's the one who made this monster, do you?" someone floated boldly, only to get immediately shot down: "No way. Banner's a scientist. There's no way he built something like this."
"Somebody help him! ETHAN, DO SOMETHING!" viewers started genuinely panicking for Banner's safety. "Don't let him die out there! The man's got SEVEN doctorates!"
"SEVEN doctorates?!" the audience marveled. "How is a genius like that just hanging around a place like Hell's Kitchen?"
"Right, seriously, shouldn't a guy like that be at some world-class university racking up honors, not stuck in a dump like this?"
"Maybe he bought the degrees," someone sniped skeptically. "No way Hell's Kitchen's got someone that legit."
Whatever the audience debated, Banner kept walking steadily toward Revenant, no fear in his eyes at all — only quiet, unshakable resolve.
Watching this suicidal little insect approach him, Revenant felt an inexplicable irritation building. He couldn't understand why this tiny creature was making him feel something uncomfortably close to fear. The feeling itself infuriated him — he figured the obvious solution was to just punch the bug clean off the map.
But right as he cocked back to swing, he suddenly registered something else — a powerful surge of energy radiating off this "insect."
The sensation unsettled him. Genuinely, for the first time tonight, something close to fear.
Furious at himself for feeling that way, Revenant clenched his fist, forearm muscles hardening like steel, ready to end this unnerving little bug with a single blow. His eyes burned with pure murderous intent, every ounce of his rage bearing down on this one man.
"RUN!" someone in the crowd shrieked, and the cry spread instantly — "LOOK OUT!" The livestream audience gasped along with them, some closing their eyes entirely, unable to watch what they were sure was coming.
Nobody wanted to watch Dr. Banner get reduced to a smear on the pavement by that fist. But Banner himself showed absolutely no fear.
Facing down Revenant's incoming punch, he calmly took off his glasses, like he was handling some minor errand.
"He's all yours, Hulk," Banner said quietly, voice small but carrying absolute confidence. "Guessing you've been waiting a while."
And then, in an instant, Banner's whole body transformed. Something vast surged through him, tearing his clothes apart at the seams as thick, powerful green muscle burst outward.
A massive green arm shot up and caught Revenant's fist dead in its grip, solid as a mountain. Revenant stared, stunned, at what had been an insignificant little bug seconds ago — now standing before him as a green giant even larger than himself.
"IMPOSSIBLE!" Revenant roared again, voice thick with fury and disbelief. He couldn't accept it — the same bug he'd looked down on moments ago had become something this powerful.
"HULK!!!" the green giant bellowed, a roar loud enough to shake the entire venue like thunder.
His eyes blazed green, twin flames burning in the dark.
Hulk grabbed Revenant's arm with both hands and, with a single violent motion, hurled him like a shot-put. Revenant sailed through the air in a long, brutal arc before slamming down into the ground with a heavy, bone-jarring impact.
The crowd watched, stunned into silence. Nobody could quite process what they'd just seen — Dr. Banner, transforming into something like this.
"THAT IS SO INCREDIBLY COOL!!"
"So THAT'S what's under the green monster — an actual person!"
"Called it! Nothing normal EVER happens in Hell's Kitchen!"
Revenant slowly hauled himself back up, his massive, heavy frame shaking the ground with every footstep, like an entire mountain had decided to start walking through the ruined streets. Every step carried a weight that seemed to threaten the ground itself.
His eyes burned with rage and violence, like fire that meant to consume everything in sight. Everything his gaze landed on — the ruined buildings, the terrified bystanders — seemed to buckle under the sheer, suffocating pressure radiating off him.
He let out another furious roar, thunder cracking across the night sky, echoing over all of Hell's Kitchen — a sound chilling enough to feel like the apocalypse had arrived.
Across from him, Hulk squared up too, muscles tensed, green skin gleaming even more menacing under the light. His eyes were hard and focused, every inch a predator about to launch itself at prey.
Without warning, Revenant surged forward at a speed that defied belief, throwing his massive fist straight at Hulk. Hulk met it head-on, matching force with force, fist against fist.
All of Hell's Kitchen shook under the impact of these two green titans colliding. Every exchange of blows rang out like thunder, and with each collision the surrounding buildings trembled, looking ready to collapse entirely. The streets filled with dust and flying debris, the whole scene a wreck.
It was clear from the start, though, that Hulk had the upper hand. His strength seemed genuinely limitless, and every exchange drove Revenant steadily backward. Revenant was strong too, no question — but next to Hulk, he simply wasn't enough.
Under Hulk's relentless barrage, Revenant's resistance crumbled fast. His steps grew unsteady, his movements slower and slower. Finally, after one last brutal impact, he couldn't hold on any longer — he collapsed to the ground and went out cold.
Quiet settled back over Hell's Kitchen, nothing left standing on that ruined street but Hulk's towering silhouette.
The green giant looked down at Revenant's unconscious body and let out one more thunderous roar.
"HULK!!!!"
As if to say — even monsters have their own hierarchy.
The audience, once again, felt the full, terrifying reality of exactly what Hell's Kitchen was capable of.
And meanwhile, quietly, unnoticed by all of it — Pietro was closing in on the finish line.
