Long ago, earth was normal habitable planet, but everything changed when tiberium appeared in this planet, an extraterrestrial crystalline substance. In begining tiberium was seen as alien but useful resource, as it leech and multiply the precious minerals and other substances, eliminating the need for mining and access to unlimited resources that tiberium could provide. The tiberium also provide vast amount of energy enough to power entire world. Because of this tiberium was initially seen as a new treasure.
But eventually, tiberium proved to be double edged sword, while indeed a valuable resource, it is was proved to be very toxic in nature and assimilating everything including organic matters. Leading to land contaminations as land is occupied by tiberium, blossom trees which are mutated by tiberium and produce more tiberium and tiberium poisoning where a human victim face organ failure due to tiberium crystallization of internal organs and even external like skin. Tiberium is also radioactive, making it dangerous for anyone to go close to the crystals.
The brotherhood of nod still see tiberium as a gift and choose to accelerate it's growth to gain enough resource for their project to turn carbon based lives into tiberium based lives, who can use tiberium without worrying about tiberium poisoning and tiberium radiation. The global defense initiative (GDI), however, see the tiberium as a threat that must be contained or eliminated, while they use tiberium themselves, it was for short term to quickly gain funds, energy and resources to fight terrorism as GDI is a global counter terrorist organisation. In long term, they would rather destroy the crystals and use traditional nuclear reactors to generate energy or do regular mining for resources.
This lead to war between Nod and GDI, former being a cult and a multicorporation, often seen as either quasi-terrorist organisation or simply brilliant but dangerous researchers and scholars who playing with powers beyond their understanding that are better left alone, while the latter is a global counter terrorist organisation, with dual purpose of fighting Nod terrorism and getting rid of the tiberium crystals, though them fighting tiberium is a questionable act, as despite tiberium being dangerous, it is clearly a valuable resource that can accelerate human progress and should be controlled rather than completely eradicated.
The war between both faction crippled the 50% of earth. The land is dangerously contaminated but hold most of the world's population. The battles put these lands which was supposed to be thriving territories despite tiberium contamination into a land of total economy and social collapse. Nevertheless, many people support Nod as they offer better future, some joined the side of GDI, due to their belief that GDI is doing everything they could to reclaim the planets and it will take time for GDI to retore yellow zone back to it's original state.
There are neutral populace too, who cannot trust either side fully and often mind their own business and try to solve their problem independently.
Aside from yellow zones, there are blue zones and red zones as well. Blue zone, the 20% of earth, which suffered least contamination and is still stable after two tiberium wars. This place is under GDI control and is considered the last refuge and hope f civilized world. The inhabitants of blue zones are elites and people with high status. The funding GDI recieves come from these people, which allow GDI to perform their duty in reclaiming the planet. Nod on other hand take advantage of blue zone's paradise like territory and it being under GDI control, to fuel their propaganda that GDI abandoned majority of populace to yellow zone, taking only rich and elite with them to blue zones.
The red zones, is fully contaminated and no longer supports human life, this place is often inhabited by both intelligent and feral mutants. This place is considered the treasury for Nod, while GDI with the ZOCOM subfaction, tries to decontaminate these territories in hope to turn red zone into yellow zone where people can move to.
The world is already a chess board between two sides, where no peace will ever comes unless one side perishes. The world remain unstable, and could potentially self-destruct if conflict never ends, and issues of tiberium is never solved, either by transhumanism of mankind or cleansing of crystals.
The world has no idea, that when there is darkness, there is a light. This light appears not in GDI territories not even Nod territory, but a neutral territory, which is not part of either group. A boy named Alan Walker is born.
According to other Alan is unusual kid, who didn't cry after being born and unlike other kids who often play indoor or outdoor games, Alan was already mature like an adult and busy himself in studies. While other children are playing football, ludo, basketball or carrom, Alan, wrote a schematics for a power plant for common folks.
This kid called Alan Walker is none other than Edward Thompson, after reincarnating Edward now Alan was shocked to know that the earth he is reincarnated into is infested by extraterrestrial crystals. Since, as Edward, Alan didn't play nor heard about command and conquer tiberium saga games, he don't know what tiberium is, he also have no idea about GDI and Nod.
But Alan didn't despair, he is determined, while crystals are threat, it is also a treasure if used properly, Alan believe that he will eventually find a way to control these crystals. For now, he put his focus on creation of power plants.
While power plants existed, they are traditional power plants like steam engines, solar panels, windmills, dams and nuclear reactors. The tiberium power plants are owned by GDI and Nod and is unavailable for civilian ownership.
This is why, Alan decides to create schematics for his own version of tiberium power plant based on resistance design from art of war world. The original resistance power plant is powered by fusion generator, but Alan made changes to original design, leading to creation of power plants with same appearence as resistance power plants but utilize tiberium, it also generate more power than original model. This tiberium powerplant is easy to make just like original resistance power plant. Providing enough power for folks of neutral zones.
Alan with schematics ready decides to go to his father, who is an engineer himself to show him the blueprints for new power plant, the one the utilize tiberium similar to GDI power plants and Nod power plants.
