He was practically biting his fingers as he stared at Liam's back, for no reason in particular, his thoughts scattered and restless. Liam suddenly stopped mid-step and turned back. This time, being more aware and alert, Lucas avoided bumping into him again as it wasn't like he was trying to act coy or do something silly just to get Liam's attention.
"What?" he asked, his tone carrying a sharp edge, the word laced with restrained annoyance and buried frustration.
Liam studied him for a brief moment before speaking. "Well… are you uncomfortable sharing the same place with me?"
He had been observing Lucas closely. Ever since he offered to pay for both of them, Lucas's mood had shifted, becoming unusually quiet. Rather than let the silence stretch awkwardly, Liam decided it was better to ask directly than let assumptions build up.
