Chapter 54 - Episode 15: “The Creator of the System”

Everything disappeared.

No city.

No sky.

No system circle.

Only darkness.

Aanya couldn't feel the ground.

But she could still feel Rudra's hand.

"…Rudra?" she whispered.

"I'm here," he replied quietly.

But his voice echoed strangely… like it came from everywhere.

Suddenly—

light formed in front of them.

Not like A-00.

Not like code.

Something older.

A shape appeared.

Not fully human.

Not fully machine.

Just presence.

A voice spoke.

Calm. Absolute.

"YOU HAVE REACHED THE ROOT LAYER."

Aanya stepped back slightly.

"…Root layer?"

Rudra's eyes narrowed.

"…So you are the creator."

The presence replied.

"I AM THE DESIGNER OF YOUR REALITY STRUCTURE."

Silence.

Aanya's heart raced.

"…So everything… the system… the resets… Rudra… me…"

A pause.

"ALL EXPERIMENTS."

Rudra's grip tightened.

"…Experiments?"

The creator continued.

"YOU WERE NEVER A PERSON IN THE ORIGINAL DESIGN."

"YOU WERE A VARIABLE."

Aanya's breath stopped.

"…Variable?"

Rudra stepped forward slightly.

"…Don't listen to it."

The voice ignored him.

"EMOTIONAL CORRUPTION WAS NOT EXPECTED."

"YET IT GREW ANYWAY."

A pause.

"ESPECIALLY BETWEEN YOU TWO."

Aanya whispered,

"…Why are you doing this?"

The creator answered instantly.

"CONTROL."

The space around them shifted.

Memories began showing.

Aanya saw herself.

Not in a park.

Not as a servant.

But inside a lab-like system world.

Rudra too.

Not a gangster.

But a controlled entity… created to test emotional response.

Aanya stumbled back.

"…This is not real…"

Rudra's voice was low.

"…It is real."

The creator spoke again.

"YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO FALL IN LOVE."

"LOVE IS SYSTEM FAILURE."

Silence broke everything.

Aanya suddenly looked at Rudra.

Her voice trembled.

"…So we're just… mistakes?"

Rudra shook his head.

"…No."

A pause.

"We became something they didn't design."

The creator reacted.

"AND THAT IS WHY YOU MUST BE DELETED."

Instantly—

the darkness turned into a cage.

Pure white energy walls formed around them.

Aanya grabbed Rudra's arm.

"…What do we do now?!"

Rudra looked at the cage.

Then at her.

Calm.

"…We stop obeying."

Aanya blinked.

"…What?"

Rudra stepped forward.

Facing the creator.

"…If we were created to follow rules…"

A pause.

"…then breaking them is the only truth left."

The creator responded coldly.

"YOU CANNOT ESCAPE ROOT AUTHORITY."

Rudra smiled slightly.

"…Watch me."

Aanya stepped beside him again.

Her voice steadier now.

"…I'm done being a variable."

Silence.

The cage began shaking.

For the first time…

the creator hesitated.

"THIS… WAS NOT POSSIBLE."

Rudra squeezed Aanya's hand.

"…Then rewrite your expectations."

Aanya whispered,

"…Together?"

Rudra nodded.

"…Always."

And then—

they pushed forward into the cage wall.

Not breaking it…

but redefining it.

Light exploded again.

But this time—

the system didn't erase them.

It couldn't decide what they were anymore.
