Chapter 6 - Everybody Lie 6

POM!

House enters an office slamming the swing door hard of white aluminum and glass.

"I invalidate my authorization!!!"

"Sip ~

Why are you yelling?" the beautiful dean of the hospital, Lisa Cuddy is sitting behind a large but simple desk of wooden boards.

Cuddy is arranging some apparently important papers calmly and her voice has a soft tone as if nothing is happening.

"No magnetic resonances, no imaging studies no laboratory..."

"Neither can make long distance calls..." Cuddy's voice remained calm while giving glances to House and putting a group of papers into a beige folder.

"If you are going to fire me have the courage to face me!!!" House kept raising his voice with an attitude of wanting to impose himself like a male.

"... Or make photocopies if you keep yelling"

"I AM FURIOUS!!!

You are risking a patient's life!" House is about to do RAW! like a tiger but thinks it would be too much.

In reality House is not angry, he is just continuing to act as he believes he would have reacted if he had not awakened his memories from past lives.

"I suppose those are two separate points..." Cuddy looks House in the eyes, she gently shook her hair to push it back.

"You show me lack of respect. You are embarrassing me!!

While I work here you have no right..."

"The intention of the yells is to scare me, because I do not know exactly what I should be afraid of...

More yells?

That does not scare me.

That you are going to hurt me? That yes, but I know I could defeat you..."

Cuddy remained so calm with her soft and melodious voice, she raised her hands in the air and then lowered them giving a light clap on the table. She stood up calmly and picked up the beige folder as if it did not matter that House had entered slamming and was yelling in her office.

"... I investigated that famous philosopher, Jaeger. And, if it is true: you do not always get what you want. But it turns out that if you try hard you can get what you need" Cuddy continued speaking calmly while heading toward a filing cabinet and placing the folder calmly.

All while occasionally keeping her gaze on House as if saying, look I am busy but I am giving time to attend to you.

"So, how do you want me to attend to patients, if you do not let me attend to patients"

"I need you to do your job" Cuddy stood up looking at House giving him a soft look.

House looked at her for a couple of seconds, then took his cane and limping headed toward the office door.

On the glass of the office door House can read:

-Lisa Cuddy, Dean of Medicine- labeled.

"The resonance...

I overpowered her ~" House, upon exiting saw his team of young doctors and his best friend in this life, Doctor Wilson. After talking House shrugged his shoulders.

"Haahhh~

Four hours of clinic. Until compensating what I owe...

Until twenty, fifty-four.

I will be here until two thousand, fifty-four..."

House made an expression of- there is no other way- sighed and then crossed to Wilson and left, with his cane, limping as he has done in the last five years in this life.

For some reason, House felt ironic that date when it came out of his mouth. Emanating other memories. But now, he no longer feels as furious as he would think he would be.

"... You better love that -Cousin- of yours a lot!" House, before going too far turned to look at Wilson and told him to then turn and disappear behind one of the double doors of a hospital hallway that was open to allow free transit.

Wilson smiled in a calm way, then turned around and entered through the door that House had just exited.

"There is a problem with House" Wilson said upon entering the office of the dean of the hospital Lisa Cuddy.

"I already solved it, did you not run into him when you entered?" Cuddy is now sitting on a three-seater sofa type furniture and is signing some papers that are on a glass coffee table.

Cuddy's long loose hair falls over her cheeks causing her to carry her hair with her hand and try to hold her hair behind her ears.

"You have not noticed him strange?"

"Strange? You have not heard him yell, he is the same as always" Cuddy looked up and responded to Wilson, then made a grimace and lowered her gaze again to continue signing papers.

"I have not seen him take Vicodin, did you see him take Vicodin a moment ago?"

"No, but surely he took a couple of Vicodins before entering kicking and yelling like a male..." Cuddy made a gesture with her hand as if taking importance away.

"He looks tired..." Wilson continued, trying to make someone else notice an irregularity in House's behavior today.

But Wilson knows he may be wrong, if he himself had not gone to his house perhaps he would not notice any strangeness in House either.

"Surely he was with some prostitute last night...

Do you know something? If you know something just say it stop playing guessing games"

Cuddy took importance away again, but upon raising her gaze and seeing a faint smile on the face of her young oncology leader doctor.

Of course, for someone House's age, Cuddy's, or any doctor with seniority in the hospital, Wilson's age is that of someone still young.

Someone like Cameron's age is still a child who just graduated from medical school.

"As House was not answering my calls I thought of going to his house, perhaps it was one of those days where his leg hurts and he will not want to drive so I could go pick him up to come to the hospital.

Thing that I confirmed when I saw his car.

But you will not believe what I ran into when I opened the door of House's apartment~"

Wilson began to act like a narrator who starts telling a story.

"A naked prostitute..." Cuddy crossed her arms and leaned back on the sofa backrest and crossed her legs leaving one of her knees on top of the other.

"Tos, tos... Tos, No...

A girl, a child... I do not know, ten, eleven, twelve. She has not finished elementary school" Wilson almost choked on his own saliva upon hearing Cuddy's response.

He quickly shook his hand and quickly gave the answer. But in his mind he remembered the moment he saw the girl and how the towel fell off. Cuddy was not so wrong in her response, but Wilson is not happy with that. This could become a black stain in his life that not even bathing and drinking large gulps of the water from the river Lethe to be reborn afterward would make disappear.

"Wilson! If House is doing something really bad we cannot consent to it!" Cuddy threw her body forward upon hearing Wilson and put on a serious face.

"jeje~ I also thought the same.

But no, House has a daughter, a daughter already that big..."

"Are you kidding right?" Cuddy now has an expression of astonishment and disbelief, two distinct and contradictory feelings but that get along well and harmonize on the face of the beautiful dean of medicine.

"No, it is true. She is identical to House, identical I mean her eyes, she has a pair of beautiful blue eyes and the shape of the tear is the same as House's.

Besides, her character...

She is House but with sweet and tender coating."

"But... When?

Ten years you say, that would be around one thousand nine hundred ninety-six, one thousand nine hundred ninety-five...

Was it not when you two met??

That House had a pregnant girlfriend would come to light and it would be hard to hide"

"I have also been thinking about dates...

That is why I say there is a problem with House, his clinic hours, having a daughter of that age will complicate things for him..."

"That is House's problem!

But... And the mother?" Cuddy asked a key question. But not for the right reasons. Somehow Cuddy felt her heart vibrate and not in a good way or good emotions.

But while in the dean's office conversations are being held that have nothing to do with medicine or administration, House arrived at the floor and to the examination room. Mainly the magnetic resonance room.

"Rebecca?

Rebecca!?..."

"What is wrong?" House entered and heard Doctor Cameron's voice.

"I do not know, it seems she fell asleep..." Chase, relaxed in the chair said while looking at the images on the screens.

House looked toward the area where there is a large machine that looks like a huge white and futuristic monster that occupies almost an entire dedicated room.

The magnetic resonance machine looks like a huge standing donut of shiny white metal, about two meters in diameter and four or five meters long, with a smooth curved surface that reflects the cold ceiling lights as if it were medical porcelain.

In the center of that -donut- there is a narrow dark cylindrical tunnel, barely wide enough for one person lying down, with inner white plastic walls that subtly light up when the machine is on.

In front of the tunnel protrudes a motorized stretcher, long and thin, covered with a green hospital sheet and on the sheet you can see a woman's legs and barely a clear white hospital gown that covers the necessary parts but gives space for any medical intervention.

On those legs, House could see a tremor. House without thinking, opened the glass door that divides the machine area from the control area. Limping he reached the side of the machine where there are signs and there is a series of buttons. House pressed a large red button without hesitation.

Then, pressing another button he pulled the stretcher that moved with the sound of a motor and a rail, the girl on the stretcher seemed not to breathe and had pale skin with a blue tone.

House took her out of a white -cage- head and with his fingers opened the woman's mouth and looked inside.

"Obstructed throat...

With his other hand, House placed the palm of his hand on the woman's neck, and transmitted a small amount of vital energy"

Then, as if by magic, the obstructed throat opened when the glottis relaxed allowing air to pass.

Perhaps if a few more seconds had passed, there would have been need to intubate. But as a precaution, House gave the order to Cameron who arrived behind him running.

"They must be blind not to -See- on the screen laryngospasm or severe glottic closure. Perhaps they should turn up the brightness on the monitors.

It is not a tumor"

With that, House turned around and limping left the magnetic resonance machine space and then the imaging room.
