Chapter 1: The Night She Shouldn't Have Seen

Rain poured like the sky was trying to erase the city.

Aanya clutched her bag tightly as she hurried through the narrow alley, her breath uneven. She had taken the wrong turn—she knew it the moment the streetlights disappeared.

Then she heard it.

A gunshot.

She froze.

Her heart slammed against her ribs as she turned slowly, her eyes widening.

A man stood under the dim flickering light. Tall. Still. Dangerous.

At his feet lay another man… unmoving.

Blood spread across the wet ground, mixing with rainwater.

Aanya's breath caught.

The man looked up.

Their eyes met.

And in that second, everything changed.

He wasn't just a man.

He was power. Darkness. Death.

He stepped forward.

Aanya stumbled back.

"Please…" her voice shook. "I didn't see anything—"

"You saw everything," he said coldly.

His voice was calm. Too calm.

He raised his gun slightly.

Her legs gave out.

Tears blurred her vision.

"Don't kill me…" she whispered.

Silence.

Then—

"Take her."

Two men appeared from the shadows.

Aanya screamed.

Chapter 2: Taken by the Devil

The car smelled like leather and danger.

Aanya sat pressed against the door, her hands trembling. Across from her sat the man.

The killer.

The mafia boss.

He watched her like she was a problem to solve.

"What's your name?" he asked.

She hesitated.

"Aanya…"

He nodded once.

"I'm Aarav Malhotra."

The name hit her like a storm.

Everyone knew it.

The most feared man in the city.

"You're not going to kill me?" she asked softly.

His lips curved slightly—but it wasn't a smile.

"If I wanted you dead, you wouldn't be breathing."

Her throat went dry.

"Then why am I here?"

He leaned closer.

"Because you're a witness," he said. "And now… you belong to me."

Chapter 3: A Cage of Silk and Steel

The mansion was too beautiful to feel like a prison.

Marble floors. Chandeliers. Silence.

Aanya stood in the center of a large room, feeling small.

A maid handed her clothes.

"Mr. Malhotra's orders," she said.

Orders.

Everything here was controlled.

That night, Aarav came to her room.

She stiffened as he entered.

"Rules," he said.

She swallowed.

"You don't leave without permission. You don't speak about what you saw. And you don't try to run."

"And if I do?" she asked.

His eyes darkened.

"Then I stop being kind."

Fear wrapped around her—but something else flickered beneath it.

Defiance.

"I'm not yours," she said quietly.

A pause.

Then he stepped closer.

"Not yet."

Chapter 4: Cracks in the Monster

Days turned into weeks.

Aanya watched him.

Aarav wasn't always the monster she expected.

One night, she found him sitting alone, a glass in his hand.

He looked… tired.

Human.

"Why do you do this?" she asked.

He didn't look at her.

"Do what?"

"Live like this."

Silence stretched.

Then he spoke.

"I didn't choose this life," he said quietly. "But I'll die protecting it."

She studied him.

For the first time, she didn't see a killer.

She saw a man trapped in his own world.

Chapter 5: Dangerous Attraction

It started with small things.

A glance.

A pause.

A touch that lasted a second too long.

One night, thunder shook the mansion.

Aanya flinched.

Moments later, there was a knock.

Aarav stood there.

"You're afraid of storms?" he asked.

"No," she said softly. "Just the noise."

He stepped inside anyway.

Silence filled the room.

"You're not afraid of me?" he asked.

She looked at him.

Her heart raced.

"I should be."

He stepped closer.

"But you're not."

She shook her head.

"I don't understand you," she whispered.

His voice dropped.

"Then don't."

His hand brushed hers.

Electric.

Dangerous.

Unavoidable.

Chapter 6: Enemies at the Door

Gunfire shattered the night.

Aanya woke to chaos.

Men shouting.

Glass breaking.

Aarav burst into her room.

"Stay behind me," he ordered.

Fear gripped her as he handed her a small knife.

"Use it if you have to."

"Who are they?" she asked.

"Enemies."

Bullets echoed through the halls.

Aarav moved like a storm—precise, deadly.

Aanya watched in horror and awe.

This was his world.

And now… it was hers too.

Chapter 7: Betrayal

The truth came like a knife.

Aanya overheard a conversation.

"She's just leverage," one man said.

Aarav didn't deny it.

Her chest tightened.

So it was all a lie.

The protection. The care. Him.

When he came to her, she didn't look at him.

"You used me," she said.

His jaw tightened.

"It's not that simple."

"It is," she snapped. "I was never more than a weakness."

Silence.

Then he said something that broke her even more.

"You are my weakness."

Chapter 8: Blood and Confession

The final attack came without warning.

Explosions.

Fire.

Screams.

Aanya ran through smoke, her heart pounding.

Then she saw him.

Aarav—bleeding.

Fighting.

Dying.

Something inside her snapped.

She ran to him.

"Don't you dare die," she cried.

He looked at her, his strength fading.

"You should have run," he whispered.

She shook her head, tears falling.

"I'm not leaving you."

For the first time, fear filled his eyes.

Not for himself.

For her.

"I love you," he said.

The world seemed to stop.

She held him tighter.

"Then live," she whispered.

Chapter 9: Vows

The war ended.

Silence returned.

Aanya stood beside Aarav, looking over the city.

"You can leave," he said.

She turned to him.

"And go where?"

"A life without me."

She smiled faintly.

"That was never an option."

He stepped closer.

"Being with me means danger."

She took his hand.

"Being without you feels worse."

A pause.

Then—

"I choose you."

His walls finally broke.

And for the first time, the devil became a man in love.
