Chapter 6 - Episode 6: “The First Real Conversation

After the assembly…

nothing felt normal anymore.

Not for Arjun.

Not for Anaya.

And definitely not for the college.

🌧️ Arjun – The Breaking Silence

Arjun Mehta stopped talking unless needed.

Not because he was weak.

But because every word now felt dangerous.

Every look followed him.

Every whisper judged him.

Every step reminded him—

He was now part of a rumor he never created.

That afternoon, he stayed late in the library.

Empty tables. Silent shelves. Cold light.

The only place where he could still breathe.

He was writing notes when—

A shadow fell on his table.

🌸 Anaya Appears

Arjun didn't look up immediately.

He already knew.

Something about the silence changed when she was near.

Finally, he lifted his eyes.

Anaya Verma stood there.

No friends. No bodyguards. No attitude.

Just… her.

For the first time.

Arjun closed his notebook slowly.

"You shouldn't be here," he said quietly.

Anaya replied instantly.

"I didn't ask permission."

Silence.

Heavy.

Arjun looked away.

"People are already talking."

Anaya crossed her arms.

"Let them talk."

That surprised him.

He finally looked at her again.

"You don't understand what it's like for me."

A pause.

Then—

Anaya answered softly.

"And you think I do?"

That hit differently.

Not rude.

Not cold.

Just… honest.

🌧️ Truth Starts Cracking

Arjun stood up slowly.

"Because of you, my scholarship is under review."

Anaya didn't react immediately.

Then she said:

"I didn't ask them to do that."

"I know," Arjun replied.

"But everything around you… becomes a problem for me."

Silence.

For the first time, Anaya didn't have a quick answer.

She looked at him properly.

Not like a rich girl.

Not like a student council head.

But like someone trying to understand something unfamiliar.

"Do you think I enjoy this?" she asked quietly.

Arjun didn't answer.

Because he didn't know.

🌸 The First Crack in Her Mask

Anaya sat down slowly at the table across from him.

Not confident.

Not powerful.

Just tired.

"I didn't go to the assembly because I wanted to see you suffer," she said.

Arjun stayed silent.

She continued:

"I went because if I didn't… they would assume things I can't control."

A pause.

Then softer:

"My life is not mine, Arjun."

That was the first time she said his name.

And it felt different.

Too personal.

Too real.

Arjun's voice lowered.

"Then why do you keep getting involved in my life?"

Anaya looked down for a moment.

Then said something unexpected:

"I don't know."

Honesty.

Raw. Unfiltered.

🌧️ A Dangerous Connection

The silence between them changed.

It wasn't hostility anymore.

It was something else.

Something heavier.

Something confusing.

Arjun spoke slowly:

"You should stay away from me."

Anaya looked up instantly.

"Why?"

"Because everything near me gets destroyed."

His voice was calm.

But broken underneath.

That statement… stayed in the air.

For the first time…

Anaya didn't interrupt.

She just looked at him.

And something inside her softened without permission.

"You talk like you've already lost," she said quietly.

Arjun smiled slightly.

"Maybe I have."

🌙 The Almost Moment

A long silence followed.

Neither of them spoke.

Neither of them left.

Outside, rain started falling again.

Slowly.

Like the world was listening.

Anaya finally stood up.

"I didn't come here to fix your life," she said.

Arjun nodded.

"I know."

She paused at the door.

Then, without turning back:

"But I also didn't come here to ruin it."

And she left.

🌸 Arjun Alone

Arjun sat back down.

His heart felt heavier… but different.

Not completely broken.

Not healed.

Just… confused.

Because for the first time…

the rich girl didn't feel like an enemy.

She felt like someone carrying her own invisible cage.

🌧️ Anaya – Outside Library

Anaya stood under the rain.

Not moving.

Not calling her driver immediately.

Just standing.

Her thoughts were loud.

"Why did I talk so much?"

"Why didn't I leave immediately?"

"Why did I say his name?"

But the real question was worse:

Why did she not want to leave?

And deep inside her chest…

something unfamiliar had started growing.

Not love.

Not yet.

Something more dangerous.

Curiosity mixed with pain.
