3rd Pov:
6 Days Later:
Standing outside the 7th unit dorms, beyond its protective barrier. Lined up was the whole 7th unit, standing in front of them were three women from the 6th unit.
One was a woman with hair and eye colour similar to those of Himari Azuma, making it obvious that she was her sibling. The only notable differences were her hair, tied up in twin tails, and her chest size and outfit.
Yachio Azuma, the Vice-Chief of the 6th unit.
At her side was a lazy woman with sleepy eyes, dozing off every second she could get, her hair was orange and her eyes were a similar colour.
Sahara Wakasa.
And the final woman had an appearance close to that of angels, her short platinum blonde coloured hair reaching the back of her neck and her eyes were a clear sea blue, her posture was graceful with a touch of elegance.
Tenka Izumo, the Chief of the 6th unit.
The whole group wrote down each of their names on a wooden board before dropping them in a dug-up hole where they were all piled on top of each other before being buried.
Not too far away from the group was a short, wavy-haired woman with light brown eyes.
Ginna Bizen, a member of the 10th Unit.
She moved what appeared to be a red mark on the ground as a large area around the group was covered and the red lines lit up before a golden dome was erected.
Ginna Bizen's ability, Ginna club, allows her to create a barrier around an area that she marks out on the ground. These barriers are harmful to the Shuuki, and will, not only damage them but also repel them back.
Ginna can choose who can freely leave or enter the barrier but they must write down their name under Ginna's authority. Anyone who wrote down their name, Ginna can be healed by her.
Far outside the barrier, on top of a cliff edge, Xicor stood with his arms crossed and sat in a meditative position, wearing his martial arts uniform with a black haori done over his shoulders.
Xicor's bird, which was assigned to watch over the 7th unit, alerted him to something happening with the 7th unit, out of curiosity he looked through the bird's vision and saw both units facing each other and decided to come over, while keeping his presence as small as possible.
Without telling Shikoku and the others, which may come back to bite him.
He watched as the barrier was erected, his eyes tracking the distance of how far this barrier was.
Then his eyes land on each member of the 6th unit, noting the blessings he can sense from them, similar to the 7th unit.
His attention was focused on the 6th unit chief, staring at her in a daze before shaking his head. He sat up as he used his construction technique to create a soft couch.
Settling himself down, he leaned into the couch, its soft material made him almost sleepy but he forced himself awake.
Back in the barrier, Yachico Azuma stepped forward as the first combatant for the 6th unit before she beckoned her sister with her finger.
Himari Azuma stepped forward as the first combatant for the 7th unit, her eyes never leaving her sister which possess an arrogant smirk.
Walking up beside Himari, Yuuki Wakura had a determined and focused expression as he looked at Himari and nodded.
She gave a nod back before sticking out her hand, Yuuki knelt and kissed it as strong winds erupted from the transformation.
As the winds vanished, Yuuki stood there in his new transformation, on all four limbs.
Himari pointed at him with her thumb, "As part of my ability, he's going to assist me"
Yachio crosses her arms, "Fine by me, it would be rude of me not to allow a dog to play with its master"
"Is everyone ready?" Ginna asked out with a microphone, gaining nods of acknowledgement from both fights as Himari got on top of Yuuki.
"Now then, let the first match..." The air grew tense, Yuuki's arms twitched in anticipation, Himari gripped his chain tighter and Yachio planted her knuckles on her hips as her eyes never left Himari for a second.
Ginna raised her right arm high before bringing it down, "Begin!"
As soon as it began, Yachio pointed her finger at Himari as she arrogantly declared, "I'm warning you, Himari, you won't last a second against-" before she could finish her sentence, Yuuki was already in front of her and thrusted his palm in her, sending her into a boulder.
With Xicor, he had a bucket of popcorn as every so often he would bring one to his mouth. Seated on both sides of the sofa were two tall figures. One was a pale white, muscular humanoid, the divine general Maharoga.
Maharoga was brought out for the use of his adaptation, he doesn't need to be hit by the attack for the adaptation to take effect. He can observe the attack, which will trigger the adaptation.
At the other side was a figure with various of the ten shadow creatures combined into it, this figure had a feminine figure, the merged beast Agito.
Agito is a combination of Nue, Great Serpent, Round deer and Tiger Funeral.
Agito was brought out for Xicor to test if she would remember past experiences as he plans to send her down.
And finally, lying down at Xicor's feet were the two divine dogs, their pelts fluttering in the wind as they attempted to sleep through the combat from below.
Xicor brought them out simply to enjoy the comfortable fur they provide.
Xicor watched everything go down, his eyes landed on Yachio slowly emerging from the cloud of dust, 'Instead of attacking when it started, you decided to just mock them' he could only shake his head.
Next, they landed on the duo, 'They're stronger than last time though nowhere near when they got that golden aura'
Yachio finally stepped out of the dust to reveal her intact clothes though the dust seemed to have fallen into them.
She glared daggers at Himari before striking a pose with one arm stretched out in front of her, similar to the other, her other arm stretched out as a yellow light illuminates her.
"Golden Hour!" she declared for the whole world to hear as golden cogs and gears appeared behind her, "Rewind, 5 Seconds!"
The whole world froze as everything turned grey, even Xicor, before everything began to reverse.
Every action taken.
Every word spoken.
Everything was revered until it continued when the match was about to start. The only sign that it happened was the sweat trickling down Yachio's cheek.
Xicor eyed the fighters with the Shikigami already around him, just as he pulled out a bucket of popcorn the sound of auidle creaking could be heard before an obvious sound of a sharp and loud click caught Xicor's attention.
He followed where he heard the sound.
Mahoraga's wheel.
Xicor raised a brow, 'He adapted? But there's nothing to adapt, is it the barrier?'
Xicor couldn't figure it out so he chose to sit and observe if it happened again and connect the dots.
Himari immediately noticed the sweat on Yachio's face as well as her demeanour was different from before, 'She's tired'
Himari immediately pulled the chain as soon as the match began. Yuuki jumped up high in the air and landed on the ceiling of the barrier.
Yachio watched them in the sky with a grin as she pulled out a modified pistol. She readied to use her ability again, though this time she aimed to freeze time rather than reverse it.
Within that frozen time, she aims to get Yuuki out of the picture and then it would be just her and Himari.
But before she could fire a single bullet, Yuuki, in a burst of speed, launched himself down to Yachio and struck her with his palm again.
Over the days of training for this match, Yuuki and Hiamri have been creating a technique that would take out Yachio in one strike, knowing what kind of ability she has.
The technique they created is called Brand Break, Yuuki concentrates his energy into his legs, which allows him to close the distance with his target and deal massive damage to them with one strike.
Although the downside is that it requires Himari to hold onto his chain for maximum damage. It also takes a lot of stamina since it is a technique they acquire within a short time.
Yachio bounced off the ground from the impact but her grin remained as she revered the time again when they were in the air.
Just as the time resumed, she struck her pose again and froze the time, betting that Himari and Yuuki would appear in front of her but they weren't there.
Frantically she looked everywhere for them until she spotted them frozen, far from her, out of range for her to hit them with her pistol if she fired.
The clock ran out as she chased after them. Yuuki began to run in circles around her, turning into a blur. Yachio watched him go around, her eyes having difficulty following them.
Yuuki deliberately slowed his speed as Yachio fired a bullet, only for Yuuki to leap up at the barrier and launch himself down but Yachio anticipated this as she jumped to the side.
Xicor watched them with a bored expression but there was a trace of curiosity as his mind worked on what made Mahaoraga adapt.
So far his wheel has spun three times in total, the only thing he could think of is Yachio as she is the only unknown fighter he doesn't know so far.
He was broken out of his thoughts when warm, slender arms wrapped around his neck and something soft pressed against the back of his head.
Blinking, he tilts his head up to spot Kuusetsu above him with a big smile on her face, "Found you!"
She lowered her head to peck his lip, "Big Sis Shikoku was looking for you, she wanted to know where you ran off to" she said as she looked up to watch the fight continue below.
Yuuki's fast movement was easy for her to track so she dismissed the fight as something boring and returned her gaze to the man in her arms.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Just watching some humans with blessings fight to see if anything interesting pops up and I was bored of just sitting around in that place" He replied as she stretched his body, his head going deeper between two cushions on the goddess's chest.
She let go of him and hopped over to sit down next to him, while resting her head on his shoulder. Her eyes were in the fight but her hands travelled to his as they interlocked.
The white divine dog shifted to it and sat up before resting its head on Kuusetsu's lap, silently requesting that its fur be stroked.
Kuusetsu raised a brow at the dog, confused about what it wanted. Xicor watched it happen and couldn't help but chuckle, "He wants you to stroke his fur"
"Stroke?" she raised a brow.
"Like what I do with my hands to your hair" he clarified.
She nodded and ran her hand through its soft and addictive fur, "so soft" she cooed as she added another hand to stroking the dog, giving him all her attention.
Xicor returned his gaze to the fight to find that Yachio struck a different pose as she yelled out, more than enough for it to travel into Xicor's ears.
"Prime Time! Freeze for 10 seconds!"
The whole world froze once again with Himari and Yuuki out of her range but that was within a frozen five-second period but within ten seconds, it's all she needs.
Yachio fired off three bullets, each aimed at different areas of their body for mobility, the bullets froze once they were within inches of contact.
Once time resumed, the bullets went straight through them as they plummeted into the ground causing the 7th unit to gasp.
"So that's what you were adapting to" Xicor glanced at the divine general with a grin, "You were adapting to time itself"
Kuusetsu was too distracted stroking the white divine dog's fur to care what was happening around her but the moment she heard Xicor speak of time, she perked up.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
Xicor pointed back through the barrier, at Yachio, who was speaking to a downed Himari and Yuuki, "That woman with the twin tails can control time but to what extent is unknown to me but I did hear her say 'freeze time for ten seconds"
Kuusetsu's eyes lit up, "That would be perfect for me, and she looks pretty too"
Xicor chuckled at her enthusiasm before returning his gaze to Yachio, "Seems this trip was worth it after all"
