Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

1st Pov Xicor Samiel:

16 Hours Later:

My eyes flash open in a panic and my breathing is quick, I just had a nightmare of the repeated events that cloud my mind.

I stare at my brother's pale face, the guilt of killing him as well as the pain of not being there for him when he needed it the most.

What kind of brother am I to allow this to happen?

To allow me to kill him with my own hands.

I force myself to look away from him as the constant repetition of driving my hand through his chest repeats itself every time I look at him. It also repeats itself in my dreams as just now the nightmare of me driving my hand through him as he yells insults as well as telling me that I'm a coward for not saving him.

My life is so fucked.

I rub my face to shake off the drowsiness of waking up. Those demon defence force members said that mom and dad are in another facility, likely in the human world but the fragile chance of them being alive is something I want to cling to.

Just the thought of seeing their dead body before me scares me to no end. This is a futuristic version of Earth so they must have a way to put the organs back in and they can be saved.

Now it's just a matter of finding them but should I just give up?

I'm working with only chances and fragile hope and yet I can't accept the reality that they are dead.

What did I do to deserve this?

I was just dropped in the middle of some random world without consent only to find out I'm the only lucky one left. Calling it luck would not be the term as this shit is pretty much torture.

I want this to be a dream so badly but no matter how much I attempt to wake myself up, it didn't work.

This is reality and I'm suffering so much, just because I'm different from the rest.

I take a deep breath to calm my chaotic nerves, to distract myself I open the system to find a new technique from rolling before I passed out.

―――――――――――――――――――――

[Aoi Todo Template: 38% ]

[Cursed Technique: Boogie Woogie]

[Speciality: Boxing]

―――――――――――――――――――――

[Bag-mask Curse user Template: 0% ]

[Cursed Technique: Cloning]

[Speciality: None]

―――――――――――――――――――――

A cloning technique, that's great but I don't really feel any excitement about getting a great technique.

The technique allows the user to create 4 copies of themselves, the user can switch his consciousness with the clones to avoid death.

I wonder if I can give a clone one of the curse techniques that I don't use often in the future for support but with the template at 0% I could probably only summon one without giving it a technique.

I extend my hand and what appears to be some form of clay appears on my palm before it slowly drops down on the floor as it begins to expand and form another copy of myself but it's in perfect condition with the clothes I usually wore.

"Go find Shikoku and Naruhime and tell them what happened, if they want to know where I am then lead them here but you must avoid any demon defence force members" I ordered as the clone nodded and slipped out.

I remained where I was, silently thinking of ways to kill the members of the demon defence force without having another organisation after my ass.

I'm still too weak to fight the entire organisation without a domain as well as increasing my reserves and my output control.

I change my seating so I'm next to my brother as I bring his cold head against my shoulder, wanting to take in as much of him as I can before I cremate him.

If those Onmyou Agency people find his body they'll somehow turn him into an undead probably and fight me again.

I don't want him to become a weapon again so it's best to get rid of his body before they find him, despite how much I want to preserve his body.

I lean my head down as I rest my cheek against the top of his head and rest my eyes, trying to get some proper sleep as the constant nightmares wake me up.

3rd Pov:

The ruins of the Xicor spire were scattered everywhere with the only thing close to the spire being the bottom half with cracks all over its hard surface.

Standing on the edge of the cliff with her arms at her side, her hands were tightly pressed as they shook with silent rage.

Her eyes darted throughout the ruin for any sign of someone she deeply came to care for, and that's the same with the other woman next to her as she frantically looked around.

Both Shikoku and Naruhime stared at the destroyed spire, its once high beauty was gone and what was left was a ruin.

"What happened here?" Naruhime said, her brow furrowed in worry, "and where is Xicor?"

Shikoku took a careful look her senses saw the trail of cursed energy away from the spire but there was also something chaotic within the air.

"I don't know but let's follow the trail of the energy Xicor left behind" Shikoku said as she immediately leapt off and followed the trail.

They followed the trail of destruction and energy until they spotted the person they were looking for. Xicor's clone walked and surveyed the area before his eyes landed on Shikoku and Naruhime and their expressions softened and eased.

Xicor's clone made his way over but before he could get halfway, his body was lifted off the ground and brought into a hug that could break bones.

"What happened? Where were you? Are you alright?" Naruhime rapid fired questions that the clone looked at Shikoku for help.

She giggled a little before coming over, "Naruhime, you're gonna have to let go so he can talk" she said gently.

Naruhime reluctantly eased her hold on him but still held him close with her chest pressed against him and her head at his neck.

"I am a clone of Xicor" the clone started, "He is injured and his mind is damaged by the death of his brother by his own hands"

Both Shikoku and Naruhime looked at the clone with wide eyes before their expressions turned to worry, "Where is he?" Shikoku asked

"I shall guide you" the clone said as he moved in the opposite direction with both goddesses close behind.

As they followed the clone, the more they saw the aftermath of his battle with the addition of the meteor and scattered patches of dried blood.

The more they move forward the more worried they become. The group goes through a series of tunnels before the clone stops and leaps up into the small room where Xicor and his brother are lying.

Once Shikoku and Naruhime leap in they get a good look at his condition, his upper garments were gone leaving it bare with tattoos, dirt and blood all over it on his stomach is a makeshift bandage with a red patch in the centre.

His lower garments are in tatters, the left side is almost gone so they've become shorts and the right side is ripped with patches of dirt and blood all over him.

Overall, he was a complete mess.

Their gazes shifted to the dead body next to him, their gazes lingered on the body before they rushed over to Xicor and checked his condition as the clone stood back.

"He's alive" Shikoku said as both girls gave a sigh of relief.

Shikoku immediately started to heal him as black slime covered his body for a few minutes before it slowly seeped back into Shikoku's hand, revealing Xicor's rejuvenated body.

She glanced at the boy who was supposed to be Xicor's brother but there was nothing she could do, his soul had already left this plane of existence.

Shikoku turned her attention back to Xicor as she cradled his face in her hands as she rubs his cheeks with her thumbs.

She turned to Naruhime who had held his hand in comfort, "Let's take him to our home so he can rest properly"

Naruhime nodded and immediately picked up Xicor in her arms gently as the clone moved to pick up Xicor's brother.

Shikoku expanded her shadow so all of them were covered before they slowly sank into the floor of darkness and into a vast dark dimension.

This is Shikoku's pocket dimension or her own domain which she can use to travel large distances by using the shadows around Mato but if there isn't a shadow in the area she wants then she can forcibly make an entrance by expanding her shadow in the place she wants.

The difference is that Shikoku doesn't have to exert more power to create a portal through.

The group flew through the dimension with Shikoku being the guide. Naruhime tightened her hold on Xicor as they travelled before glancing down at him in her arms.

His face was still dirty and bloody from the battle but his wounds had closed and is recovering much better but his reserves were still not at their peak.

The more she stared at his face the more she felt her heartbeat quicken and a fuzzy feeling in her stomach.

Most of her siblings found her hard to be around because of her loud and aggressive nature but the times with Xicor, cooking for her, reading to her and fighting with her, each time she beat him he would look forward to the next one with a massive grin.

It was the first time in her life that someone didn't berate her for her attitude nor did he allow pride to cloud his judgement like most beings would.

It gave her a strange feeling when she was getting along with someone who was the same species as the creatures who invaded her dimension but over time she cast that feeling aside after they sparred the first time.

The more she fought him, the more she understood humans would be a threat to them as Xicor would grow stronger after each defeat, like he's replaying the fight in his mind and pointing out his own mistakes and correcting them.

And all that almost was taken away from her, by his own kind no less. A wave of coldness flashed through her eyes as she pressed Xicor even closer to her.

To her side, the clone watched Naruhime, like it was saving this moment in its mind.

The flicking light appeared in the distance as the group sped up their pace before they phased through the shadowy portal and onto the other side.

On the other side is a wide ornate open room with ruins along its circular walls and in the centre is a wide circular platform that could fit two cars on it.

Standing at the side of it is a tall dark-skinned woman, long spike white hair that goes down to her waist with black eyebrows and silvery grey eyes. A pair of antler-like horns sit atop her head. A pair of elongated ears and black markings that cover her toned stomach.

She is almost naked aside from the white armour that covers her neck, chest, and waist in addition to gauntlets and greaves.

She sits on the circular platform, staring at the wall in a daze before the shadow portal opened on the wall behind her, catching her attention.

From the shadow portal came Shikoku and the others, the woman's gaze locked onto the 3 males in the group, silently wondering if they were a threat or not.

"Shikoku, what is this?" The woman asked, her voice stoic but laced with confusion.

"Ah Jouryuu, nice to see you" Shikoku greeted as Naruhime walked away with Xicor in her arms to a different room.

The clone remained with the corpse of William in his arms, remaining silent unless told to by the ones its master has asked to get.

"Well you see, you know the person that interested me and gave me lots of ideas for me and Jaku'un to use for our Shuuki to you, Rairen and little Kuusetsu~?" She said as she walked over to the platform.

"Yes, you stated he was a human named Xicor Samiel who has a strange energy" she responded.

"He got attacked by something the humans made and it was his brother and he is currently trying to recover but he can't do it in a chaotic area with humans looking for him" Shikoku said.

Jouryuu would understand the pain of losing a sibling as she has multiple, Shikoku and Naruhime being one of them.

She glanced at the doorway where Naruhime had taken Xicor, "Would he be a threat to us?" She asked curiously.

Shikoku's answer was immediate, "No, without a shred of doubt"

"The humans want him and they're going to extreme lengths to get him but with him on our side, it'll be more beneficial to us" Shikoku said.

With Naruhime, she expanded her senses to find a comfortable room for two people and immediately set out to find that room.

It only took her several minutes to find as she practically kicked down the door and shut the door with her foot before walking over and setting him down in it carefully.

She was about to sit down on the chair inside the room but some unknown force in her body compelled her to lie on the bed with him.

She saw no harm in it and the more she thought about it, the fuzzy feeling in her stomach came back as well as her heart quickening.

She carefully climbed onto the bed and lay next to Xicor's sleeping form, silently watching. The more she watched, the more her body grew closer before she was hugging him with his head resting against her chest.

She felt herself slowly drifting asleep in this moment, gods don't need to sleep but resting with someone she came to cherish is sweet and warm.

Her eyes closed and soon her breathing was slow and steady.
