Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Battle Record

"Kyle" felt that Blue Enchantress's speed and strength had significantly improved.

At least much higher than "Kyle's" ghost body.

Although his dodging movements were slightly clumsy, there was no panic on "Kyle's" face.

Clang!

Dagger and sword collided, sparks flying.

"Kyle" stumbled back three steps, and Blue Enchantress closed in on him.

"Kyle" rolled to the side, dodging the sword strike.

Blue Enchantress's reaction wasn't slow either, the attack following the turn immediately; "Kyle" hadn't had time to stand up yet.

Seeing the blade about to strike him, "Kyle" thrust the hand holding the dagger backward while pushing off the ground with his other hand; the weapons collided again, and "Kyle" used the momentum to leap into the air.

"Kyle" adjusted his position in mid-air, using gravity to deliver a downward kick.

Blue Enchantress moved to block.

But "Kyle" adjusted his position in mid-air just in time, landing a kick on Blue Enchantress's shoulder.

Ignoring the pain, Blue Enchantress endured it and thrust his longsword upward.

"Doesn't that freaking hurt?"

"Kyle" dodged the strike and stabbed downward with his dagger, wounding Blue Enchantress's left shoulder.

"Ah!"

He could endure the downward kick from before, but being stabbed by a cursed gear this time was different.

This was pain stemming from the soul.

Blue Enchantress was clearly being wounded by a cursed gear for the first time and had underestimated its power.

Because of this, "Kyle" found an opportunity and tried to knock Blue Enchantress's sword away.

Unfortunately, like most other Vampires' swords, Blue Enchantress's weapon had grown several barbs in its second stage, fusing it firmly to his palm.

"Kyle's" move only left a shallow wound on the back of his hand.

Blue Enchantress had just endured the pain when the ache on the back of his hand followed immediately.

"What... is this thing!"

"Kyle" didn't answer.

Strike while you're down, take your life!

Blue Enchantress dodged in a panic, and the tide of the battle shifted.

"Kyle's" attacks became increasingly frequent.

Blue Enchantress truly couldn't bear the pain of the cursed gear, and the wounds on his body multiplied.

"Kyle" found the right moment and plunged it into Blue Enchantress's throat.

Blue Enchantress's eyes widened, a look of disbelief on his face.

Finally, he turned into ash.

"Kyle" breathed a sigh of relief.

Although he had soloed an Upper-ranking Vampire without taking damage, the pressure he faced was still immense.

On the other side, the other Vampires were busy fighting the humans, with both sides sustaining various degrees of injury.

Both sides were seeing red; they had no interest in paying attention to the battle on this side.

Moreover, in the eyes of the Vampires, since their strengths were similar, "Kyle" must have been injured while following Lord Ferid.

But the truth was that Kyle had kicked the bucket, and his body was being piloted like a mecha by Luke.

"Kyle" also noticed that no one was paying attention to him, so he quietly hid in the shadows.

He had originally intended to help the Vampires fight the Imperial Demon Army.

But since these Vampires had all betrayed Princess Krul and defected to Ferid's side, then not a single one of them should return!

"Kyle" looked at the timer.

There were still thirty to forty minutes left before the trial card expired.

He and Blue Enchantress had only fought for about seven or eight minutes.

"Kick his ass! You idiot! Use your blade now! I'm done, no wonder people say you're a noob; you can't even dodge this. Go find a factory job; the Imperial Demon Army isn't for you."

Although hiding in the shadows, "Kyle" continued to "analyze" the situation on the field.

Ten or so minutes later, there was little effective combat power left on either side. On the Vampire side, only one Upper-ranking Vampire and a few Lower-ranking Vampires remained. On the human side, only five or six people were left, including a Major who was killed by the Upper-ranking Vampire at the cost of having his right leg severed.

Although a Vampire can reattach severed limbs, he still needs the opportunity to do so.

And "Kyle" clearly wasn't going to give him that chance.

Three minutes later.

"One, two... eight, plus Blue Enchantress, hmm, nine kills."

"Kyle" counted on his fingers.

"Less than twenty minutes left. What should I do? I know, let's look for that Ferid guy."

No sooner said than done, "Kyle" vanished into the night, leaving behind a ground full of ashes and human corpses... inside a room on the edge of Shinjuku.

Ferid and Guren sat facing each other. Ferid still wore a smile, while Guren's expression was full of impatience.

Ferid spoke.

"Then it's settled, Guren-kun."

Guren nodded in response.

"Yeah, I get it. I'll withdraw the troops so you can go back and report, but the day after tomorrow at the latest, we will retake Shinjuku. There are military secrets here; we can't let you actually occupy this place."

Ferid was very satisfied.

"Of course, ahahaha. Our Queen's plan didn't include taking Shinjuku in the first place; it was just specifically targeted at me."

Guren replied calmly.

"I'm not interested in your Vampire politics. I only hope to receive the person I want at the right time."

Ferid didn't get angry at Guren's arrogant tone.

"How disappointing, Guren-kun. I was just venting my troubles to you. After we cooperate, won't we be friends?"

Guren stood up, preparing to leave.

"How can you have the nerve to say that? Forget it, anyway, if you trick me, no matter where you are, I'll take your life!"

Then, Guren left without looking back.

Ferid shrugged helplessly.

"How boring."

Then Ferid also left. He planned to take the Vampires who had joined him back to Sanguinem, while leaving the few scattered ones who were blindly loyal to Krul here to guard Shinjuku.

If it was taken back before Krul sent people to take over again, it could only be said that these guys were incompetent; it had nothing to do with Ferid, as he had already conquered it when he led the team.

Ferid returned to the moonlight and listened quietly.

"Is the fighting already over? It's so quiet."

"Guren is quite efficient, but he actually took away so many civilians. Now Shinjuku is like a ghost town. Anyway, you're going to attack and take it back, so stingy."

Swish!

The sound of something cutting through the air came; Ferid turned to look as a cold gleam pierced the darkness, heading for his head.

"A dagger?!"

Ferid's pupils shrank, and he quickly turned his head.

Although Ferid's reaction was fast, his cheek was still grazed by the dagger.

"It hurts! The wound shows no signs of healing. A cursed gear?"

Ferid quickly understood that this dagger was new equipment from the humans.

Ferid roared.

"Who is it!"

Responding to him were more sounds of something cutting through the air.

Swish! Swish! Swish... Ferid's face turned pale with anger as he quickly drew his sword to block these hidden weapons.

These weapons were varied: katanas, longswords, sledgehammers... While blocking one of the swords, Ferid recognized its owner.

It was the weapon of Blue Enchantress, who had been dueling "Kyle"!

All twenty-plus weapons were blocked by Ferid, but cold sweat had already broken out on his back.

It was fine to be hit by Vampire armaments, but if he were hit by a cursed gear, it would be unthinkable.

Finding that no more hidden weapons were being fired, Ferid felt a sense of relief mixed with burning rage.

"I'll see just who you are!"

Then he ran toward the direction the weapons were fired from.

In the shadows, "Kyle" exhaled.

"That felt great! Oh, only ten or so seconds left."

Ferid was too hard to find. Originally, "Kyle" thought if he couldn't find him, he would study these weapons. But just as he gathered the weapons and found a place to study them, he heard Ferid's muttering.

So he turned into a master of throwing darts!

At this moment, "Kyle" also spotted Ferid rushing over at high speed, and the corners of his mouth curled up.

"I'll be damned if you can catch me."

With that, without waiting for the countdown to end, Luke picked up the last cursed gear, stabbed it into his own heart, and then threw it with all his might before turning into ash.

Taking another look at the light screen, "Kyle" nodded in satisfaction.

Ferid watched the cursed gear enlarge in his vision and let out a sneer.

"Heh, at your wit's end?"

He dodged it easily and arrived in front of "Kyle" in the blink of an eye.

But only a skeleton remained of "Kyle," and it was also in the process of turning into ash.

Ferid frowned.

"Did he commit suicide? Whose subordinate is he? Krul's? Or the human upper management's?"
