The "Silent Hunter" didn't retreat; instead, he drew two blades coated in anti-electric material and lunged at Ari with insane speed. His movements were terrifyingly silent, but Ari was no longer the trembling maid.
(Ari Internally, dodging the first blade with an acrobatic move: My God! I almost lost a lock of hair! Do you think swords will work against a girl running on 220 volts? Time for "Fast Charging"!)
Ari reached out her hand, but instead of firing a random bolt, she concentrated the energy in her fingertips to create "strings" of blue lightning that surrounded the Hunter and bound his movements. The Hunter screamed for the first time, while Ari smiled with a cold look completely foreign to her.
"I'm not a fan of killing.." Ari said. "But anyone who touches my property has to deal with the heat!"
She stomped the ground, sending a shockwave that sent the Hunter flying into a massive tree, knocking him unconscious from the electric shock. The blue aura faded, and silence returned, but it was the silence before the real storm: Lu Ming.
(Inside the Car - 10 Minutes Later)
The silence inside the car was heavier than mountains. Lu Ming sat in the backseat, leaning back, his dark eyes never leaving Ari's face. His look wasn't one of gratitude, but a cold "interrogation" that would silence the bravest souls.
(Ari Internally, fidgeting with her fingers: Crap.. the mission impossible begins. Look at his face; he looks like he wants to dissect me to see how my battery works! Where did "Ari.. stay here" go? The Ice T-Rex is back in full force!)
"Who are you, really?" Lu Ming broke the silence in a very low, cold voice. "A maid? An engineer? Or a spy sent by the 'Blue Organization' to monitor my transformations?"
"I am Ari.. the shackle you chose yourself, Lu Ming," she said, trying to stand her ground.
He leaned in closer until she felt the chill of his gaze, and he grabbed the necklace that had revealed her secret.
"This necklace.." he said coldly. "Only members of the 'Li' family wear it—the ones who disappeared twenty years ago after the 'Lab 109' incident. Did you come for revenge? Or to finish what your father started in my blood?"
(Ari Internally, feeling a lump in her throat: Lab 109? Li family? My God, the than I imagined! I know nothing about my family, but he thinks I'm an enemy. Look at his grip; he's trembling with rage.. or maybe disappointment. Is our story over before it even began?)
