Ari saved a wounded noblewoman, Yuna, from imperial soldiers by bringing her into the Hearthearth. Yuna revealed that the Emperor was crushing dissent and spoke of "Witches of the Hearth"—ancient cooks and healers the empire had erased. Yuna told Ari of other refugees seeking a safe place. Ari decided to build a sanctuary, and Yuna left to spread the word.
