It was a normal Monday morning at Green Valley School. The sun was shining brightly, students were laughing,and everything seemed perfect-except for one thing. By the end of the day,nothing would be the same again.
Riya,a class 8 student was known for being curious and intelligent. She loved solving puzzles and often jokes that she would become a detective one day. Her best friend Aarav always laughed at her ideas,but deep down, he admired her sharp mind.
That morning,their class teacher entered with a serious expression. The chatter in the classroom slowly faded.
"Students", she said, "I have something important to tell you. One of our classmates, Rahul, has been missing since yesterday evening. "
The entire class fell silent. Rahul was a quiet boy who rarely talked to anyone, but he attended school regularly. The news shocked everyone.
"His parents have informed the school and the police are investigating. Until then,you all must stay alert and not go anywhere alone," the teacher added.

They decided to check the school CCTV room, but it was local. So instead., they asked the school guard if he had seen Rahul leave.
The guard scratched his head. "Yes, I remember, He felt around 4pm, but he wasn't alone."
Riya's eyes widened. "Who was with him?
"I couldn't see clearly, someone wearing a black hoodie." The guard replied.
Now things were getting serious.
The next day, Riya and Aarav decided to visit Rahul's house. His parents looked worried and tired.
"We just want to help, "Riya said politely.
Rahul's mother allowed them inside. His room was simple, with books and a study table. While Aarav looked around casually, Riya examined everything carefully.
She noticed a small piece of paper under the table. Picking it up, she read it silently.
"Meet me near the old library. Don't tell anyone. "
Riya showed it to Aarav. "This is important. "
"Who wrote it?" Aarav asked.
"That's what we need to find out," Riya replied.
The old library was located behind the school. It had been closed for years and was now mostly abandoned.
That evening, they decided to go there.
As they approached the library, the place looked creepy. Broken windows, dusty walls, and silence everywhere.
"Are you sure about this?" Aarav whispered.
Riya nodded. "We've come this far."
They slowly stepped inside. Suddenly, they heard a noise.
"Did you hear that?" Aarav asked nervously.
"Yes," Riya replied, trying to stay calm.
They followed the sound and reached a small room. The door was slightly open.
Riya pushed it gently.
Inside, they saw something unexpected.
Rahul was sitting there!
"Aarav... it's him!" Riya whispered.
Rahul looked scared but unharmed.
"Rahul! Are you okay" Riya asked.
Before Rahul could answer, a voice came from behind.
"So, you finally found him."
They turned around and saw a senior student named Vikram. He was known for being aggressive and often got into trouble.
"What are you doing here?" Aarav asked.
Vikram smirked. "This doesn't concern you. Leave."
Riya stepped forward bravely. "Why did you bring Rahul here?"
Vikram expression changed. "Because he saw something he shouldn't have."
"What do you mean?" Riya asked.
Rahul finally spoke. "I saw Vikram cheating during exams and taking help from someone outside the school. He threatened me to stay quiet. "
Vikram glared at him. "And you didn't listen."
"So you kidnapped him?" Aarav said angrily.
"I just wanted to scare him, " Vikram replied.
Riya quickly took out her phone and started recording. "The police will hear this."
Vikram panicked. "Stop that!"
He tried to snatch the phone, but Aarav stepped in front of Riya.
"Run, Rahul!" Aarav shouted.
Rahul quickly ran out of the room.
Riya and Aarav followed him,while Vikram tried to chase them. But before he could catch them, the school guard and a police officer arrived.
"Stop right there!" the officer shouted.
Vikram froze.
Riya had already called the police while coming to the library, just in case.
Vikram was taken away, and Rahul was safely returned to his parents.
The next day, the whole school was talking about the incident.
The principal called Riya and Aarav to the stage during assembly.
"These two students showed courage and intelligence. Because of them, Rahul is safe today," he announced.
Everyone clapped loudly.
Aarav smiled and whispered, "Okay, detective Riya, you were right."
Riya grinned. "Of course. "
Rahul thanked them personally. "I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't come."
Riya replied, "Friends always help each other."
From that day, Riya became famous in school as "Detective Riya." Aarav still teased her, but now he believed in her abilities.
And Riya? She knew this was just the beginning of many more mysterious to solve.
