Chapter 28 - The Enemy Above All Outcomes

The sky didn't crack.

It opened.

Not like a Rift.

Not like the tears before.

This was deliberate.

A perfect line stretched across the heavens—

Then widened.

Everything went quiet.

Even the other versions of Danny—

Stopped.

The broken one tilted its head.

The cold one narrowed his eyes.

They all felt it.

"…It's here," the other Danny said quietly.

Danny looked up.

"…What is that…?"

From the opening—

Light didn't pour out.

Darkness didn't spill.

Instead—

Something descended.

Not falling.

Not emerging.

Being placed.

Like a piece on a board.

Ren exhaled slowly.

"…Yeah… that's not a Correction Unit."

Abby's voice dropped.

"…It's higher."

The figure landed.

No impact.

No sound.

It looked human.

Perfect posture.

Perfect form.

But something was off.

Too clean.

Too… intentional.

Its eyes opened.

And the moment they did—

Everyone felt it.

Not pressure.

Not fear.

Authority.

"—System Overseer—Activated—"

Silence.

Danny's chest tightened.

"…Overseer…?"

The entity looked at him.

Directly.

"—Primary Anomaly Confirmed—"

Then—

It looked around.

At every version of Danny.

"—Secondary Anomalies Confirmed—"

A pause.

"—Outcome Deviation Beyond Acceptable Threshold—"

Ren whispered.

"…That's the boss."

Abby didn't move.

"…No."

A pause.

"…That's the one behind everything."

Danny clenched his fists.

"…So you're the one resetting everything."

The Overseer didn't react emotionally.

"—Correction is necessary for stability—"

A pause.

"—You are the instability—"

Danny stepped forward.

"…Then I'll fix that."

The broken version laughed loudly.

"…You still think you can fight it…?"

The cold version spoke.

"…No."

A pause.

"…He thinks he can surpass it."

Silence.

The Overseer raised its hand.

"—Initiating Full Correction—"

The sky changed instantly.

Not cracked.

Layered.

Multiple realities—

Stacking.

Collapsing.

Merging.

Danny's vision blurred.

"…What is it doing…?"

The other Danny answered.

"…It's combining outcomes…"

Ren cursed.

"…That's bad. That's really bad."

Abby's voice sharpened.

"If those realities merge—"

The cold version finished it.

"…Only one version will remain."

Silence.

Danny looked around.

At all of them.

All versions of himself.

"…So it's forcing a final result…"

The Overseer responded instantly.

"—Correct—"

A pause.

"—Singularity Outcome Required—"

The broken version stepped forward.

Laughing.

"…Perfect."

Its body glitched violently.

"…I'll be the one that survives."

It rushed forward—

Not at the Overseer—

At Danny.

"…No!" Abby shouted—

She moved—

But the cold version intercepted instead.

BOOM.

Their clash shook the air.

The other Danny grabbed the real one.

"…Focus!"

Danny snapped back.

"…They're fighting each other…"

"Of course they are!"

A pause.

"…Because that's what it wants!"

The Overseer watched.

Calm.

Uninterested.

"—Self-Elimination Phase—Proceeding—"

Ren gritted his teeth.

"…We're playing right into it."

Danny clenched his fists.

"…Then we change the game."

He stepped forward.

Not toward the versions.

Toward the Overseer.

Abby's eyes widened.

"Danny—don't—!"

But he didn't stop.

"…You're controlling everything from above."

The Overseer didn't move.

"—Correct—"

Danny's eyes sharpened.

"…Then I just need to reach you."

The air trembled.

That same presence—

That deeper power—

Started to surface again.

The sky reacted instantly.

"—Threat Level Increasing—"

Ren smirked slightly.

"…Here we go again."

Abby stepped beside Danny.

"We're not letting you do this alone."

The other Danny joined.

"…Yeah."

A pause.

"…This time, we don't repeat the mistake."

Even the cold version—

Still fighting—

Glanced toward them.

And then—

He broke away.

Standing beside them.

"…Temporary alliance," he said.

Ren laughed.

"Wow. I'm starting to like this guy."

The broken version screamed—

Charging again—

But this time—

All of them moved.

Together.

Not against each other.

Against something greater.

The Overseer watched.

For the first time—

Its head tilted.

"—Unexpected Behavior—"

Danny stepped forward.

"…Yeah."

A pause.

"…Get used to it."

The air exploded.

Power surged—

From multiple versions—

Different forms—

Different intensities—

All converging.

For the first time—

The system wasn't facing one anomaly.

It was facing many.

And this time—

They weren't divided.

They were united.

And that—

Was something the system had never prepared for.

To Be Continued.
