Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

I lost count of the days I've been staying in this huge house. I wasn't allowed to leave this chamber. Meals are just being delivered—the reason why I kinda know what time it is is due to the kinds of meals they deliver during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I am becoming more and more anxious every day. He said he wants me dead, but he kept me alive up until today. Is he planning to make me anxious or to feel at ease knowing that he won't hurt me just for me to let my guard down before he'd do his plan? If so, then I'd rather not sleep. Who knows, when I'm fast asleep, he would enter my room and suck me dry to death.

 The horror.

I shook my head and heaved a sigh.

I thought of my parents. They must be worried right now. I'm pretty sure they saw what happened before I was taken away. I wonder how they are coping up with my loss? Are they searching for me now? What are they planning to do?

I'm scared that once they found me, I'm already dead at that moment. I am also afraid that they will be the next victim if they try to find me. I don't want them to be the next victim.

The man who abducted me is a psycho and there is no doubt he will kill all of us.

 "What are you thinking, prey?"

Startled, I jumped and clutched my chest.

 I sharply looked at him.

"None of your business," I spatted and pouted my lips. I was annoyed at him. No, scratch that. I'm angry at him.

He chuckled at my venomous tone. He extended his arm and caressed my cheek through his thumb. I flinched away.

"When are you planning to kill me?"

He raised a brow. "Feisty, huh?"

"No. You said to yourself you'll kill me but you weren't even hurting me." I gritted my teeth.

 He smiled.

 My heart raced.

He leaned down until our faces were only a few inches away. He whispered into my ear, "Tell me, prey. Do you want me to hurt you?"

I looked at him in disdain.

 "What do you think?"

"I don't know. You tell me."

 "I hate you."

He laughed coldly. It sent shivers down my spine.

"Likewise, dear." He pulled away and looked at me smugly. "Anyway, if you want to get hurt, just tell me. I will gladly give it to you."

I clenched my jaw. "You're devil."

He shrugged. "Well, that's true. You're not exactly mistaken."

He smirked. I gaped at him as I felt my heart drop into the spit of my stomach.

 "Y-You're, what?"

 He just smiled.

 No... he can't be serious...

 Is he really... a devil?

It explains how his eyes would turn dark. However, remembering the cliche books I've read before, demons don't suck blood. Or they are?

My abductor chuckled. "You're stupid, prey."

I frowned at him. "Why do you always call me prey? I have a name, it's Navelle."

 "Because you're a prey."

My brows furrowed. "You're confusing me. Why prey?"

 "Give me your hand."

I reluctantly extended my hand to him. His pale and cold hands touched my warm one.

"You're a prey because..." He lifted my hands, and before I knew it, he got his fangs buried in my wrist. I shrieked and pulled my hand back, but he firmly held my hand still. I could feel him feeding from my blood. It disgusts me. After a few seconds of sucking me, he pulled away and wiped the corner of his mouth. He smiled and said, "... because I'm your predator."

He licked my wounds and it quickly healed. I almost fainted as tears began spilling from my eyes. He stood up and I collapsed on the bed.

"Thanks for the dinner, prey. See you when I feel thirsty."

And just like that, he leaves the room.

He's right... I'm a prey. Hopeless, weak, and pathetic.

 I should've just died.

 **

It's been a week since he went to my room. The only person who could go in was Eliza. She's been keeping me company for the past few days I've been staying here. To be quite honest, I didn't feel like I'm being imprisoned because of the way she and some servants here treated me. I felt rather like a guest than a prisoner. They aid me for everything I want—except for lending me a phone. But other than that, they were nice to me. I once invited them to join me for lunch and we all had a good time together. I figured out they were just humans like me.

I wonder how they got their job?

"Hays! I'm bored!" I exclaimed as I jumped up and down on the bed, trying to entertain myself. But I couldn't just, so I slumped down on the bed and sulked.

"I can accompany you to the garden, Miss Navelle," said Eliza.

I swiftly turned my head on her as she caught my attention. "There is a garden here?! Oh, my gosh! Really?! Why didn't you tell me?!"

She smiled a little. "You didn't ask, either."

I flashed a huge, sweet smile as I stood up. Yes! Finally! I could have some place to wander while I was held in this mansion!

I was smiling from ear to ear when suddenly, I remembered something.

 My smile disappeared.

 "What's the problem?"

My lips protruded as I slumped back down on the bed, my arms crossed across my chest.

"I wasn't allowed to go out, remember?! You told me I cannot!" I whined.

After that day when he bit me for the second time around, he told all the servants not to let me out of the room. I tried to tell Eliza to let me out and even reassured her that I won't be escaping. But she firmly told me she wouldn't let me.

My hope crashed down. "Tsk..." I heave a deep sigh. "When am I able to go home?" I murmured to myself.

Eliza spoke, "Master told me you can now leave this room."

I looked up at her through my wide eyes. "Eh?"

 She nodded her head. "Yes."

My lips parted. "Are you being serious?!"

 "Of course," she replied.

I shrieked in happiness and jumped up and down on the bed before I ran towards her direction and hugged her tight.

 "Yay!!"

She coughed as her cheeks reddened. She pulled away and opened the door. "W-Well, if you wish to go out, I'll accompany you."

I beamed. "Yes! Thank you so much!"

But my happiness soon diminished when I saw a figure standing behind Eliza. My heart began thumping fast and loud.

He smirked. "Oh, hello there, prey."
