Chapter 21 - The Nightmare or a memory

Cracks of burning blue light tore across the darkness, splitting the sky of Umbraxis like shattered glass. Each fracture bled a blinding glow that didn't just light the world, but erase it.

Kage stood there and saw them.

Kael and Lyra.

He knew them.

Even if he didn't understand how.

"They've breached the inner veil," Kael said, his form flickering violently as distant explosions rippled across the horizon.

The ground trembled. Their world was dying.

Kage tried to move, but his body didn't respond the way he wanted.

Instead, he was pulled. Drawn closer to her

Lyra held him.

Not Kage, not our child.

The small shadow being trembling in her arms.

"He's too young,"

Kage felt it. The fear, the warmth and the desperation. the doubt.

A deafening roar split the air.

Kage turned and saw them.

The towering constructs of radiant metal tore through the surface of Umbraxis, piercing deep into its core. They pulsed with blinding energy, destroying the darkness from the planet itself.

Where their light touched the shadows ceased to exist.

Kage flinched. His entire being recoiled from it.

The Cosmanins.

The word echoed in his mind.

"They came to destroy us" Kael whispered.

Kael knelt in front of him. In front of his child.

"Listen to me," Kael said gently.

"Where you're going… you'll be different."

"You must blend in.

Kage's chest tightened. "But never forget"

Kael's voice hardened slightly. "What they did to our world."

The child looked up, red eyes glowing faintly.

The ground shook violently, the sky split further.

"There isn't much time," Kael said.

Sealed him in the shadow pod

"Find your strength," Kael's voice echoed.

"Take the form of the humans that lives there."

"Become strong."

"And one day…"

take the fight to them and them masters

The last thing Kahe saw was them standing together preparing to attack the battle ships in the sky.

Kage's eyes snapped open.

He sat up instantly.

Breathing sharp and heavy

 His chest felt tight.

"…That wasn't just a dream," he said quietly.

His hand trembled slightly.

Shadows coiled around it instinctively tighter than ever before.

His Blood Watch flickered.

Class: Heir of the ShadowsLineage: Confirmed

Kage froze.

"…Confirmed?"

The screen glitched briefly then stabilized.

Origin: UmbraxisStatus: Survivor

Kage stared at it.

"So it was real."

A long pause, His gaze slowly shifted toward the window.

The night outside felt different now.

"…Cosmanins…"

The word felt heavy in his mouth.

something ancient, something dangerous. Something that had already destroyed his home.

Kage clenched his fist.

Shadows surged slightly responding.

"…If they come here…"

A quiet breath.

"They will meet there end here." The room fell silent again.

But far beyond Earth, beyond the stars

beyond what anyone here could see those same cracks of blue light flickered faintly in the void.

that was a thrilling battle Keal.

You and your wife was able to destroy practical are whole fleet.

"You delayed our master's plan for a full-scale invasion for a few more years"

The leader of the cosmanins looked down at him.

"but with you out of the picture"

"the only thing that stands in our way"

A pause.

"are the humans."

"My master are giving them powers and blessings.

Images flashed around them.

Gate creatures.

Blood Watches.

Humans awakening abilities.

Growing stronger.

"…but they are being tricked by them."

Massive gates split open across continents like wounds in reality.

Creatures pouring out.

Humans fighting desperately against these impossible horrors.

"The gate creature was created by my masters"

"They were creating to distract the humans from learning the secrets of their world and the gate realm"

"My master fool the human into thinking that the unknown god", wants to kill them"

"My master want revenge on the unknown god for what he did"

"Why are you telling me this" ask Keal

"Because Dead man tells no tales"

Then a blade swish through the air beheading Keal.
