"No." I placed the moisturizer bottle back on the marble counter. My reflection stared back at me, something fierce burning in my eyes. "If Benedict falls now, we can ignore her. She won't pose a threat. Besides, what could she possibly know that matters? We can live peacefully."
"She's been surviving without the medication." Percival's voice dropped its casual tone completely. He meant business now. That focused intensity that turned him lethal. "The way her blood responded when I attempted to manipulate its essence, she's definitely awakened. She's different. I sense it."
I shut my eyes tightly.
"Percival."
"I've done my homework. Even her mother, despite living a reasonably long life, clearly overused her abilities and the consequences eventually destroyed her. I must have her, Bianca."
