Chapter 55 - Lightning Relic Usage

Indeed, finally they would be using their Relics; Koji had been waiting for this the whole day, well in fact--maybe even the whole week.

Quickly, Cecilia's hand opened again to reveal the tiny spheres placed upon her palm--after once again analyzing the little balls, Koji's eyes flickered as they flew out of her hand.

"Alright everyone--now, I'll recite the way you should use your Relics once again--firstly, you must pour only Li energy into the Relic; oh, not to mention--I will not elaborate on this, as you've been provided enough context before."

'Didn't she say she wouldn't say any of that stuff again? I guess she changed her mind...'

Koji was a bit confused on why Cecilia was going back on her words--though, he didn't mind the extra instructions, as he knew he was pretty uneducated, so any extra context would be at the least--a bit helpful.

"Ok, also--be sure to not pour more than 4% every three seconds, please--if you do, this could lead to horrible side effects!"

Cecilia just restated her previous words, just with less context--so really, Koji actually didn't gain much from this--well, at least not as much as he expected; he thought she'd at least state one new thing!

'Damn Cecilia, usually people will clarify something new when restating their previous points--angering, you are!'

"Alright class, that's all--so remember, activate your Relic and aim at the sphere in front of you; for now, they aren't moving--don't get used to this, because as the year goes on I'll make it harder and harder for you to strike them, and eventually you'll all become masterful with aiming your attacks."

Opposite of Koji, flew the tiny sphere that would be the object struck upon by his lightning, and the object his eyes were closely focused on; meanwhile, his hand gripped his Relic tightly--at this point, they were about to begin.

"Alright class, y'all can start."

At Cecilia's permission, Koji instantly started pouring his Li energy into his Relic, and it started to glow yellow; he could feel the nausea start coming, but then stabilize as he calmed the speed at which he poured in his energy--currently, he was doing the max recommended by Cecilia, which was 4% every three seconds; from Koji's guess, if he poured 4% every three seconds, he would be able to let out five lightning bolts without having to rest--to clarify, one lightning bolt may take around 8% of his energy to output, and Koji was not used to using tons of energy, so around 40% of his energy was all that he would be able to use without any problems.

After six seconds, a lightning bolt beamed out from the Relic that Koji held in his small, pale hand; the bolt struck across the sky at well--obviously, lightning speed; quicker than anyone could see, it struck upon the little sphere and the sphere started to glow yellow, of course--this meant he had succeeded first try!

This may be due to his past experience with a Lightning Relic--no, it definitely was; though, Koji instantly felt this one was much more high quality, even though it had the same power output for the most part.

Indeed, Relics can have varying qualities--even of the same rank or power, these qualities range from stability to even how much output can be put into them without exploding; yes, this is indeed the case--some Relics could only take a certain amount of energy output per second before overloading.

Moving on, considering this--the Relic that Koji was currently using was much higher quality than the other, and this allowed his aiming to be even more precise; he thought he'd struggle more with this Relic, except it was the opposite--aiming it was as easy as breathing air.

"W-woah Koji, uhm... Good job, you hit the target first."

Cecilia's eyes widened a bit in surprise at Koji's instantaneous success at the task, and was a bit confused on how he was able to achieve such a thing--though, she didn't dwell upon it for too long and simply congratulated him

"Thank you Ms. Cecilia!"

Koji smiled and looked back down at the Relic; his thoughts started to run wild.

'This feels way nicer than the one Lin got me... Hmm, I wonder when Cecilia will help my start nurturing a new Xin core, as it's already been awhile! I know I should probably wait till at least 10 before starting, though it would be nice to at least learn some more; of course, Lin did tell me a little bit but he never fully trained me on it.'

Koji was desperate to continue, and he had already thought he was doing well with this new Relic--so his thoughts drifted to a different problem that he had so solve, which was his current weakness; currently, his strength was beyond low--it was absolutely bottom of the barrel for a Transcendent.

"Alright Koji, look up--now, the device will randomly move in different directions--your goal will be to hit it three times in a row."

Since Koji succeeded so quickly, Cecilia decided to give him a new task--to hit the target three times in a row while it moved in different directions; for this, she felt it would take him a good while, as it was quite difficult compared to hitting a stagnant target only once.

"Yes Ms. Cecilia!"

Koji listened to Ms. Cecilia's orders, and for the most part--he felt they were rather simple; though, yes their contents may seem overwhelming--especially when compared to the previous tasks requirements, it truly wouldn't be that difficult for Koji to achieve such a thing; in fact, his very own prediction established he would succeed in only three tries!

Koji's eyes narrowed as he stared at the orb; this orb, it would not be stagnant anymore, rather it will move in random directions--though, Koji had already developed a method to succeed.

It goes like this: from his earlier shot, he calculated the lightning took about one second to shoot out of the Relic, which means if he goes to strike the device he would have to predict it's movement by one second--of course, the travel time also had to be considered; though, lucky for Koji--he was using lightning! Due to the vast speed of light, he was fine in this and had no need to calculate anything--moving on, the one second may seem easy, except it wasn't--because of the balls size. The device's circumference was probably only about three, or maybe four inches at most; however, another problem was left--Koji had yet to been notified of how fast exactly the ball would be moving. If it was too fast, and it's distance traveling in each direction was too random--then this challenge would become miles more difficult.

'This is fine, I'll wait for her to activate it; then, I'll simply just observe it for a bit.'

Koji had his plan in mind; he was completely ready to start the new task--finally, right in front of his eyes--the orb started to move!
