Swoosh.
Adrian phased away.
"Is my story that interesting?" He questioned Old Lue who watched from a hill.
"Is that not what you wanted?" She asked.
"I don't want my story to be written for me, is all."
Boom
Energy burst from Adrian, pushing Lue of the hill.
"You sent them, didn't you?" Adrian stepped over the cliff, walking calmly to where Lue flew.
"The fact that I am wary of you does not mean, you can defeat me, only that you might." Her wings flapped as she spoke, neither anger nor rage in her voice.
"We will only tell once we fight." Adrian smiled.
"I did not send them." Lue said. "Besides, I thought you had a calmer head."
"Hmm," He nodded, believing her "I can tell you fear something, and that thing isn't me… but a memory I bring back." Adrian's demeanor changed once more.
"I will tell you this, help me conquer the world, and I will help you." He suggested.
"I am stronger than you, why should I?" She denied, not a trace of interest in her voice.
"You can tell that Valhalla is as strong as you right? If I wanted to be stronger all I have to do is fight and adapt."
"What exactly is your power," She paused, looking at him from his toes up. "and what drives you?" Adrian raised a brow at her question.
"Would you tell that to someone whose stance against you is unclear?" Adrian asked. He might not say it, but if Lue attacked him before he could summon, he would be dead for sure. His power was adaptation, and as his fight with the magic school's Dean showed him, if he was hit with so much power that he couldn't adapt in time, he would lose.
"In the past, I was amongst the nature lords, one of the lords of the 5 great fairy clans here, I have the power of synchronization and symphony with nature. I also possess the power of Command." She said.
"And you are certain I won't take advantage of what you just told me and attack you."
"Yes." She smiled. "I sensed the first time I stepped into this county, but I am sure you were too weak at that point to realize it. So, one thing is for sure, you were not a monster from the start, then two, the power to summon rainbows due to fluctuations in emotions was just due to the abundance of magical energy within you." She looked at his face which seemed to express genuine surprise.
"Three, you have the minimal records of interaction, it took me a lot to dig up information on you which means little interests you. You wanting to conquer the world is probably something that you feel would be interesting, you wouldn't play foul." Lue said.
"That's a really a lot about me." Adrian smiled. "Will you join me then?"
"If it was before, surely, but now a more established force has proposed same, one whose interests align with mine to the tooth." She shook her head, still disinterested in his proposal.
"It's that boy, isn't it?" Adrian's gaze turned cold.
"You have hated him from the start, why?"
"Should I explain all my feelings to you now?"
"I should have known." She smiled again
"Don't act like you know everything about me just because of the little you know." He raised his eyes to stare at hers... a bit dangerous.
"Really young man? I didn't know disrespecting someone you like's grandmother has become the norm." Lue's smile deepened.
He looked at Lue quietly for a long while. Then he looked to the gradually darkening skies.
"I don't like people who want to control me, but you are different, you want to know me and I commend that. I am Adrian Wilbert, but you already know that… An idiot being who calls himself the sovereign lives inside me, due to this, I have an enhanced mageroot that can control as much mana as I want, but just as unique as I am, it can also store it. My mageroot can adapt to any magic form. I'm also an immortal." He said.
"I want to rule, because..." Adrian paused, almost as though he was putting his mind into place.
"I am the only one worthy of ruling the world."
Rain fell.
Yet not a drop touched Adrian.
"The world will be at my fingertips, anyone one who goes against me shall be destroyed, there are no righteous neither are there devils. All that matters is power."
"And what makes you think you are worthy to rule this world?" Lue asked.
"I simply believe so… it's a matter of strength, isn't it?" He stepped forward the –
He phased .
Lue's eyes bulged open "Please don't be another him." She shivered, remembering a nightmare.
….
"Why do you do this?" Lue asked staring at the male gyn before her. A crown adorned his head, and his regal robes had been stained by blood.
"The gyn were the powerhouse before you appeared, if not for that Monstrous Dragon we would have been wiped out. Now we have the power and we shall rule the worlds. Let those idiotic humans come, the Apes and all other original races. They shall be wiped out."
An ashen aura rose from the gyn and colored the sky.
The smell of burnt flesh and blood filled the air.
